That is great Isabelle.  You have really done well.  Keep up the good work.  Did you find it hard over Xmas.  I am so excited about having the surgery and it is nice to hear from others who have had it or are waiting.  You made a really good recovery.  I hope mine goes that well.  How many days did you stay in Mtrl. I am thinking of going down the day before and staying 2 more days.  My Dr. in Ottawa will  do my follow up.  I am in Ottawa right now and have been for 10 days at my sons place.  We will be going back home Sat.  The info should be there when I get there so I will know more. I'm in Ottawa too, I work on Wellington street but live in Gatineau. I left at 4:00 AM the morning of the operation. I was supposed to get out the same day but my diabetes went up because of the surgery so he prefered sending me to the hospital by ambulance and I was out the next day with good drugs so I don't even remember the 2 hour drive home. I didn't find it hard at all over xmas since I'm not hungry. I had one small meat ball with mach potatoes and gravy and I was very happy! Once you are 2-3 weeks on the shakes, then on liquids, after that you will be happy with anything you eat. I still can't eat pasta or rice, it comes right back out in a min. But I can eat beans and cashews!!! The trick is to eat slow, wait a few min. for the next bite so you know if it will go down right.

Well I am lucky I don't have Diabetes.  One thing in my favor.  I was born in Ottawa and lived there up until 13 years ago'  I worked on Carling Ave at the Hospital for 22 years then retired up in the Pontiac.  My mother was from there lots of family history.  We are planning on selling our house and buying a condo  less work.  All of our family are in Ottawa  mostly.   Doris  QC.
