Martine?

We've seen on some peoples post that they have called the hospital to find out how many people are ahead of them. Who is this Martine and how can I contact her as I am interestyed in knowing for myself and my partner. Also does she speak english.

Hello Amy,

Martine is Dr.Garneau and Atlas's secretary i beleive. You can defenitly give the Rockland Clinic a call and they will tell you where you stand in the waiting list. There is also Danielle that you can speak with, i beleive they both speak english but i am not sure at 100%.

Let me know what they say.

Thanks to Nathalie and Derek, i wasnt sure if she was the secretary or nurse but they confirmed she is the nurse.

I am seeing Dr Atlas - so I will just call his office and ask. Very interested in finding out. I only got approved in march but it seems like a long time.

Hi Amy,  Martine is a bariatric nurse at Sacre Coeur hospital....   She can tell you where you stand and answer whatever questions you might have....  She's very nice.  She has alot of patience too and that's good since I call here every 3 months !!!   Don't be shy to call her....

I just called and got the voicemail too.

It says to leave a detailed message asking who this message is directed to, who is calling and for what purpose. Leave a call back number so they can return your call. They said they return all the calls in order of medical importance.

I did not leave a message and will call back later. If I don't reach someone by 2pm, I will leave a message.

I just got a call back from Martine - was very happy to hear from her because everyone is correct -she is very helpful and nice to speak to.  Anyhow, she let me know that for hospital surgeries she is booking patients from late 2008 now.  My partner's consultation was in sept 2009 so she said the wait is still 2 or 2.5 years from that day.   For day surgeries the wait is 12 -18 months.  She also suggested that we do our sleep apnea tests locally while we wait because when it comes time to pull the file, things will move much quicker.

Thanks everyone for your advice and help....still playing the waiting game but its good to know at least only one more year of waiting.
