Monday Weigh in!!
Congrats Sarah!
15 more pounds and I'm going to be super jealous of you but only because of your hard work!
Keep it up girl!
As for me, the week didn't really go according to plan. I really had a rough time making healthy choices for supper. I always have a hard time with supper when nothing is ready at home. I always opt for the greasier non-healthy food like most of you remember choosing before. This week I luckily only gained .8 pounds. I'm surprised it's not more with all the bad food choices I made but hey, I'm still in the 300's.
Would any of you have suggestions for suppers? I've been trying to low-carb it so anything with mega taste would be awesome. So far, I can only have so much beef brocolli. Diane, would you mind sending me that General Tao chicken recipe with Splenda that you made for your family? I wouldn't mind trying it out.

Derek, don't be too hard on yourself, like you said, your stomach is 20 times larger than ours! But just being conscient of what you eat is a major thing...
I had the same problem ( and still have sometimes) of when I come back from work, tired, and nothing's ready for supper, I tend to go to the fastest route, fast food or frozen meals... The solutions I have are planning the meals ahead for the week, when you already know what you'll be eating, you are less tempted to go out or eat fast foods. The other thing I love is my crock pot ( slow cooker), I prepared the supper the night before, start the cooker in the morning and the meal is ready when I come home...
I will try to post some recipes later and if it could help, my menu plan for this week. The general tao recipe is not especially low carbs and low fat as the chicken is breaded and fried but I tried to lower the sugar with using splenda...It is a meal that I don't do too often. As I only ate a small plate,it was ok for me .But maybe you can try it with only grilled chicken breast, as the sauce is so good, it will not be a real Tao, but lower in carbs, fat but tasty... I'll post the recipe later today...
Have a nice week!
((hugs))

Merci Diane. I was thinking that your recipe was a little more low-carb than that but for sure I will use grilled chicken and not breaded fried chicken. I have to draw the line where I can. I would just love to know your recipe and adapt it to my style.

As Diane wrote, don't be too hard on yourself!!! This journey is much more like a marathon than a sprint...
If you allow me, I'd share a few things that seem to work well in our home: 1) taking time during the weekend to make a grocery shopping list and and a list of ideas for supper for the coming week make weeknights meals much more simple. 2) a slow-cooker is a must. 3) a pressure-cooker permits to store tons of stuff (pasta sauces, chilis, soup, stews, and so on) at room temp, without cluttering refrigerator or freezer. Google up "Vincent le canneux" and you'll see tons of ideas about this on his blog. Canning goods may be a bit time-consuming but those Mason jars saved us from numerous supper disasters!
My two cents... ;-)

No it was 0.8 pounds. And I'm already down 2.8 since yesterday so there's no big deal. I'm back on the wagon.
