I have my evaluation appointment at 1:45 today and I am a little nervous. I just hope he'll approve me and have me put on the infamous waiting list! I'll let you know how it went.

Good luck Monica! I'm sure it'll go very well and you'll be on the list in no time.

Let us know how it goes!

Well, I'm back. The good news is that I qualify not only for WLS but also for the "day program". The bad news is that even that the waiting list for the day program is shorter than the one for more complexe cases, it is still 12-15 months long (as compared to 24-30 months). And that really does seem like an eternity right now!

So now it's time I get down to some serious thinking and calulating: wait 15 months or pay 15K$ to get it done sooner?

Cheers,

Monica

Well the time goes by fast Monica. You are still young and don't have any serious health problems. If you can't stand to wait, you can pay the money outright but for me the better option was to wait the time I had to. I'm going on 17 months tomorrow. As much as it seams to have taken so long. It's gone by relatively fast.

That's great news Monica !!!

I agree with Derek the time does fly by. I waited just over 2 years and at first it was like time was standing still. But then life goes on it didn't consume my every thought (every second one ! ) and it passed by quickly.

Don't panic. I was told when I went to Montreal that the waiting list was 2 years. Well I said put me on the list.  Now they tell me 6 months, Go figure. I think they are trying to get people to self pay. They did give me the option. So bear with it.    Doris

Monica,

I agree with Cindy and Derek, time goes so fast. I have waited 2 years and it doesn`t even look like it.
