Hi!  I'm a pre-op.  I had an RNY in 2000 and am now looking to have a revision to DS.  I have selected Dr. Keshishian in Glendale, California.  I recently heard that Dr. Michele Gagner does the revision from RNY to DS laparoscopically.  All of the surgeons in the states do it open.

I don't see Dr. Gagner's name much.  I'm wondering if any of you went to Dr. Gagner and what you have to say about him.  Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the QC board. Dr. Gagner does do the DS over here in QC but it's just recent. He used to be based out of NY City. I don't know how it works with him as he doesn't do any public surgeries and other than Brenda, no one has gone the private route yet. I've only heard good things about Gagner but that's all I know.

Hi Dawn and welcome to our board. If I remember correctly, there is a member from the Ontario board that had her surgery this past spring at SacréCoeur Hospital. She also had a revision from RNY to DS. There was also a man who came from Florida. You may want to check on those boards. I do think he has operating priviledges hence it is through the public system. The difference is between a nonresident and resident is the payment scheme differs. A resident is free and a nonresident is billed. Good luck!

well i found the oposite ..i have seen his name alot...i see alot of amazing things said about him because he is highly skilled..he is in montreol Canada. i emailed him and inspite of how busy he is he answered me back ..he had even just returned from holidays...not just any surgeon can do a revision from a gastric to ads ..i would put my life in his hands because he is damb good at what he does :) keep care Dawn..just trying to figure out payment as i live in another province
