Good low cal low carbs snacks to help stop grazing...

Like I said in the other post I was a grazer big times!!!  So I try to eat often, to prevent being hungry  and eating everything in sight!!

Here are some of my low fat, good carbs, low cal, and often high proteins snacks...And they are not low taste!!
Since I was restraining myself  in carbs before, now I am starting eating good ones, and I am researching the best for my snacks...

I found those all natural all grain crispbread, they are 60 cals for 2 slices and have 3 g of fiber, 2g of proteins and only 14 total carbs.
Kavli 5 grains crispbread.
I eat those with a light babybel, or 2 triangles of light laughing cow cheese.

I bought at Costco: Diva's Delightful crisps
Those are crisps that have a lightly sugary taste, but also spicy a little bit . So they can be used like a little cookie with coffee, or a cracker with some hummus or cheese...
60 cal for 4 , with 10 g of carbs, 1 g of fiber, 1-2g of proteins.

Pumpkin seeds are also great, a little less fat than nuts, low carbs and high proteins ( 153 cal for 28g, 13g of good fat, carbs 5 and 7 g proteins.

Another good find is Milanaise 6 grains flake, bio. I used it for my apple crumble. They have less fat, less carbs and more fiber than regular oats.

I also have a recipes for cranberry seeds muffins, with pumpkin and sunflower seeds, really filling with 51 cal for a mini muffin,7,5 carbs, 1 g fiber, 2,5 g proteins. 1 or 2 makes a great snack.
As always, greek yogourt with fruit is always a fave for snacks as also Kashi's granola bars ( raspberries and dark chocolate are to die for... ) Or small pack of almonds ( in serving sizes portion, to avoid over eating them!)

Here is another of my favorite for the winter nights...Bari-wise hot chocolate ( they have many flavors, raspberry chocolate is wonderful). I order them from bariatric choice site. They have 80 cal, carbs 4g and 15g of proteins...that helps for that little chocolate craving that happens sometimes!

If you have any other ideas for good carbs food or snacks, please share!
Have a good day!

Diane

Thanks for these great options Diane. I am surely going to have to go and get a Costco card so I can take advantage of all of their food options.

Thanks so much Diane. Your ideas are always welcomed. I am not much of a snacker but when the urge hits, it is great to have different ideas. I have a question though. Where can you purchase the Milanase 6 grain flakes. Never heard of these.
I also eat the Kashi bars. I stock up when they are on sale. They are delish. I will definately try the pumpkin seeds. I would love more of your recipes as they are always delish!

The Milanaise flakes are in the bio section of many supermarket...I saw them at IGA, metro... The milanaise brand has many other cereals... If your supermarket doesn't have those flakes, surely they can order them. I found them crunchier on crumbles than regular oats...

My latest " craze" is about ground cherries... I love snacking on them, because it feels like you are eating whole peanuts when you peel them! And it takes longer to eat...Great snack in front of TV!!

Here is my Cranberry seeds muffin recipe:

1 3/4 cup all purpose- flour
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup of oat or wheat bran
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp each of baking soda and salt
1/3 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
1/3 cup of hulled pumpkin seeds
3/4 cup splenda
1/8 cup of splenda brown sugar mix
2 tsp finely grated orange rind
2 eggs
1 1/3 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
2 cups of thawed cranberries

Topping
3tbsp each of oat bran, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds

In a large bowl, whisk together flours, oat bran, baking powder, soda and salt. Whisk in seeds.

In a separate bowl, whisk splenda, brown sugar and orange rind. Whisk in eggs and buttermilk.
Whisk in yogurt. Stir in flour mix in 2 additions, just until combined. Stir in cranberries.
Spoon into pam greased muffin cups. ( it gave me 17 medium muffins, or 12 med and 15 mini)
Sprinkle with topping.
Bake at  375 about 25 min. ( adjust depending on sizes of muffins)

NUT: by 1 med muffin
Cal: 137
