Good afternoon all,

I know I haven't posted in a quite a while and I am sorry. Usually once school kicks im down for the count and I'm doing 15 credits this semester so its already hectic hahah.

I was on the phone with one of the nurses today and we discussed the surgery, she said that since I am younger there is a higher chance that the surgery will be performed at Rockland medical center and the wait would be more towards half a year. I'm not getting my hopes up lol, I just want to be on that list and let time do its thing.

But the thing is, which surgeon? Atlas, Denis, or Garneau? I know people on this forum who have dealt with each so I would like to know why I should chose one over another and maybe who might be the best for me in my current situation. Any info is mcuh appreciated

Thanks :)

Hi Omar, I could be wrong but I think they all work in a team. I had originally seen Dr. Atlas and thought he did my surgery. But turned out it was one of the others. I'm not even 100% sure which one anymore.
Then my first follow up was a different dr all together not even one of those 3.

When I met Dr. Atlas he was very direct and to the point, his bed side maner is not great. But he has a good reputation.

Good luck

For me I had gone and seen Dr. Garneau because he was young and because he did the DS that I initially wanted. After meeting him, I felt confident that this was the surgeon for me. He told me that he dealt a lot with the younger patients and his success rate was perfect. I kinda had a connection with him and it just felt right. You just have to find the one that feels right to you.

Like Cindy said, Dr Atlas and Dr Denis are working together. They almost always do surgeries together. They are 2 very good surgeons. Dr Garneau is working alone, and is also a great surgeon. I think the waiting time is a little longer with Dr Garneau... I wouldn't have  problem to have surgery with any of those three surgeons they are excellent. I chose Dr Denis because it was the one who has the soonest appointement available...

Good luck!

Awesome guys!! I think im gonna go Diane's route and just take the nearest possible appointment. The bedside manner thing doesn't worry too much, I'd rather have a stern doctor who's just gonna give it to me straight rather than beat around the bush.
