Going to visit the NUT on Thursday!!!
Well I got bad news for you... YUP your going back to Rockland just for that... But if you contact Martine and tell her you live far away. She can usually try to make everythign in one day for you. So you can go for all your pre-op tests and then to go Rockland, which by the way is around the corner from the restaurant we went too.
Normally you have to call before you go to rockland so they can order what you want to have.
I bought the Beneprotein and the Benefiber they suggested. I tried the protein 2 or 3 times. I can't stand it. To me it made my food taste really gross and changed it a lot.
I never needed the fiber had no problems with that. So it was all a total waste of money for me. And the protein had to be special ordered for me at the pharmacy.

I also bought beneproteins and didn't use it. I didn't like the taste and it was lumpy... At first, I used proteins bullets that I bought on the net. It's kind of of liquid kool-aid that contain 42 g of proteins in 3,8 oz. So it is easy to get many g of protein in the beginning when we eat so little. It is very sweet, so I diluted it and made popsicles with that, and it was really easy to get liquid and protein in at the same time in the first few days. I wasn't able to tolerate protein powder in the beginning, but used premier shakes from Costco.
For optifast, ask Martine how many weeks you'll need ( call her ) and you'll have to call Rockland so they order it for you. Then when you'll come for your appointment with Martine you just have to stop at Rockland to get them.
My husband saw Martine today because she wants him to see an internist before surgery because of his diabetes and heart problems. He also had an ekg and blood tests today. She schedule him for the nut meeting on nov 4 th. She said that if everything is ok, he should have surgery before Christmas! Now he is waiting for the phone call to have his surgery date! I ask for you Derek, but she told me that Dr Garneau list is not like Dr Denis's one and she didn't know when you'll have your surgery. I think it shouldn't be long since you already had your nut meeting!

I am a little late in answering this post but here goes....I hated the beneprotein, couldn't digest it. I had issues with whey protein since my surgery so the only protein I could digest was soya protein. I only use it once a day now but it was a staple for me for at least ten months post op. I never tried the premiere shakes as unfortunately I don't have a Costco closeby. I got my Optifast at the Nut meeting so my experience doesn't apply. You are now one step closer to surgery Derek.....
