Hi,

Sorry to bother you but I had a question.
I saw in a post that you went to Dr atlas recently and he said that the wait time was 2 yrs, but lapband shorter? Or did I misunderstand?
I am asking because I am still trying to decide between a band and a vsg and i was wondering if the wait times are different.

thanks in advance.

Ana.

Hi Ana,
I think the waiting time for VSG is about 24-30 months and lap band may be between 8 and 16 months.

Good luck!

Thanks Derek!

I have an appointment with dr denis for beginning Oct. I just hope he doesn't reschedule it yet again...

You should be good Ana.

Dr. Denis should be back into working form and no longer in vacation mode. It will be a very boring consult but at least you will be on the list.

My consult with Dr. Atlas was very disapointing.  I wanted the Y and he said no because of my age,  He said he would do the Lap Band.  I am on the list but personally I would prefer the Y.  Doris

Doris,
Dr. Atlast knows what is best for you and if he decided the band was best then so be it. The advantage of the band is that the waiting time is less, less complications and heals quicker. Because of your age, this is definitely the best option for you! The band is successfull if you choose to make it work. It's all up to you.

Hi Derek
Yeah but another Dr. said not to do the Lap Band. definately do not do the lap band.  Well I am on the list for Montreal so we will see.  Quebec is so hard to deal with.   They make people wait way too long. Then they bring people in from Ontario and from the USA ahead of us. It just dosn't seem fair. They don't want us to go out of country but they make us wait.      Doris
