 Hey all,

Just a quick post, today is the day i was told to call for a consult. I woke up at 7 in order to start calling at 8. I've been doing so and in the past 2 hours NOTHING. The line has been busy for 2 hours straight?? This is for Dr. Atlas and Denis, their office i mean. What in the world is going on? Is this normal??
I'll keep calling but I am kind of confused and frustrated, and moving in the direction of anger. Does anyone know another number they can be reached at? Has anyone faced this dilemma either?

Hi Omar,

It took me 1.5 hour of calling almost non-stop but I finally got through and was able to make an appointment. I too was wondering if there was something wrong with their phone line but apparently it's just that there are so many people calling at the same time.

Don't give up, I know it's frustrating but eventually you'll get through. If you have a home phone, maybe you could use the "automatic re-dial" function - I think it costs 0.50$ and it keeps calling the number until the line is picked up.

Good luck!

Keep calling dude! You will get through. I remember being able to get through around 1pm right after lunch. You may want to try that. Let us know.

Hi Derek and others as well.
I have been away for the summer camping but when they told me to call a certain day I was up at 7 and started dialing at 8 and I hit the redial button at least 100 or more times straight until I got through. It worked. I went for my consult on  Oct. 30th.  in Montreal.  Now they will only do the lap band. I wanted the Y and he said no only the lap.  The waiting period is 2 years. I said put me on the list anyway.  I need knee surgery in the spring and getting it before would make things so much easier.  I think the waiting period and the stress for people is way too much.  I read all the recent posts and my heart goes out to all of you.

Hey guys,

I actually got through about 30 mins ago, maybe a little before. All of their appointments were completely booked and I now have to wait until the nineteenth of october to schedule for november, which totally sucks by the way. What can you do? I had prepared myself for the letdown, so im not totally distraught, but I am really disappointed.

Thank you both for your help and concern Good luck!

That sucks man! If you read back my older posts, the same thing happened to me for 3 months straight. Call the first of the month in October and then every 5 days after. It worked for me.

I started calling at 8 I must of redialed 100 times but I was persistant.  I finally got through.  It is crazy and not really  a good way to treat people. first come first call basis.   keep dialing don't give up.  doris
