It'ts that time again... Monday weigh-in!
Salutations, distinguished board members!
Vacations are now over and I'll be back to work in a few hours :-S...
I had a great holiday, including "new" activities: water park, cool rides at La Ronde, 500ft "tyrolienne" (translation?) over Batiscan river, etc. I also did some clothes and SUV shopping. I also began gym training on a 3x/week basis, and didn't experience too much day-after pains and aches.
As for reactions from relatives to post-op "wows": my wife is very understanding and never tried to shut me up, but I can understand that she could get a little tired/frustrated of hearing my wows because she's obese too and fears surgery (I don't know if she's "morbidly" as she refuses to tell me her weight...). Now that my weight stabilizes, I try not to bother her with weekly losses and clothes sizes...
I lost 1.6 pounds over the last two weeks...wich seems fine since a growing number of people I meet ask me when my weight loss will stop...(I secretely hope to reach Onederland, but they don't have to know that :-)...)
Have a good week!

Welcome back Joel, we missed you! Congrats on your weight loss, even during vacation! Wow, you are now very active... I always wanted to try tyrolienne but was afraid of the cable giving up!! LOL I should try it some day...
Congrats also on beginning gym training, you'll see it becomes addictive!
I think you are right about the family being frustrated about the wows... Now that I think about it, my normal weight son is not as "tired" of it as my husband ( who is on the waiting list for vsg) and my son who is obese but don't want to lose weight...
What is your BMI now? If you are tall you don't need to go too low... But onederland is surely a "onederful" place to be!
Have a nice week!

Hi Diane!
I'm very proud that I got over a few unrealistic fears, like the tyrolienne cable breaking and roller coaster derailing because of me...so much less weight on my shoulders!
I was quite surprised that no one asked about my weight before getting hooked to the tyrolienne...but then again, they don't know where I once was...
My BMI is still at 28.8 (I'm almost 6 ft tall), and for us guys, 25 is considered healthy...But, since I lost weight, it's clear to everyboby that I'm quite "big-boned". BMI 25 is not a goal for me since I already have to train to gain some of the muscular mass I lost these last months (even if I've stuffed my face with proteins...).
And congrats on your recent achievements (and that whopping 5.5lbs)!
Always a pleasure to read your posts!

Hi everyone, as usual I'm late checking in...LOL. I am still on vacation until friday so I am taking in every last beautiful day. Hence not on the puter much. Where to begin....
Diane, wow and more wow's with that great loss and to answer your question about sizes, yes it was and is the same experience for me. I dropped from a tight 16 to a comfortable 14 in a month. I am now taking in alot of the clothes I bought in June for fall. I was in a size 16 for about one week! LOL. Also I have noticed with me is that the three pounds you lose closer to goal shows up much more on the body than when we were bigger. Be proud of your accomplishments and keep in mind that your journey is not everyone else's. Remember how hard it was prior to this wl journey. It must be just overwhelming for the people on the sidelines, especially if they have a weight problem of their own. Go ahead and celebrate Diane! Post everything. I love reading your entries. I tend to downplay my goals so it is nice to read yours and think....wow I experienced the same thing. I can't wait to spend sometime over diner this fall to talk, talk and talk some more!
Joel, so great to see you posting and I understand what you say when you mention that people are now worried that we lose too much weight. I am dealing with that issue now with friends and family.
Cindy, you are doing great. Many more wow's to come....trust me.
Derek, keep on doing what you do. It will pay off very shortly.
Omar, nice to have a new point of view. Do keep posting!
Well gang, I don't know what I did this week weight wise as I will get access to a scale only next week. I do need to buy one I guess. Have a great week guys!
