You have to do your research because this surgery has to be for you. DS = Duodenal Switch and VSG = Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomie. The DS includes the VSG with that addition of removing some of the small intestine for malabsorbtion purpases. Joel had the DS, Diane and Cindy the VSG, Brenda the RNY and others have had lap band. There are several surgeries you just have to find what works for you. Oh and the surgeons out there mostly do just 1 surgery so make usre before you get your appointment that the Dr. you chose does the surgery you want.
