Monday Weigh in
Hi everyone.....hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was good but the rain dampened a few planned activities! I have another week of work and then I am on vacation!
Here are my stats for the week,
LW 175
CW 172 (-3lbs)
I was very surprized with this loss....as I honestly thought I stayed the same this week. Seven to goal!!!!!
Take care everyone and for those starting their vacation have a great one!

Hope everybody is doing well!
Last week has been good for me. Beside a 2.4lbs lost, I exorcised one of my inner demons...My family and I went to "Les galeries de la Capitale" and I did ride the "Capitale Express"! (the inside roller coaster I couldn't try last summer because the f****** security device wouldn't lock because of my belly and thighs...as described in the "Why we chose surgery" post).
I went or a follow-up appointment this morning and bloodwork is OK but my weight loss is too rapid according to the surgeon I met. After DS, weight loss usually spreads over 18 months and I'm only 8 month out and lost 37% of what I weighed the day I left the hospital...Ironically, I have to find ways to eat more!!! Once too good a gainer, now too good a loser...Just blows (my mind)!!!
Gotta get cooking!!!
Brenda: Way to go! Very happy for you!

As for the weight, I had lost 2 pounds during the vacation even with the chips and fast food... But since I arrived, I am back on the track, gym and good eating, and lost another 8 pounds!
So 10 pounds less since july 5! And onederland is coming, I cannot believe it!
LW 211,5 (july 5th) CW 201,5 -10 lbs in 3 weeks
Brenda, yeaaahh, the goal is so near! Continue your good work.!
Joel, you lose too fast !!! Lucky you, you have to eat more... maybe some iced cappucinos?? LOL
Congrats on your continuing weight loss!
Have a nice week everyone!
((hugs))
Diane
I'm very glad that you had a great vacation, and managed to lose 10lbs on the "american diet" in the mean time...That's a huge achievement!!!
I confess I'm still hooked on iced cappucinos/mokas...I had decided to stick to the "no whipped cream" option, but I guess I'll be able to order a "no whipped cream, no remorse" version!!! On a more serious note, I plan to get some extra calories from healthier sources...Home-cooked meals.

Joel, isn't it a great feeling to finally put down those demons! Was the ride fun?. I sure it was a special moment to ride with the kids. By the way, how does one calculate the % of weight loss? I am usually pretty good in math but this I can't figure out. My numbers don't seem right. Any help would be appreciated.

(weight loss post-op/ body weight right after surgery) x 100% = ?
In my case, I don't know the exact numbers they use but, as a ballpark figure, let's say:
130/340 x 100%= 38% approx.
Since a part I left a part of my small intestine at the hospital, surgery itself caused some weight loss...But for those who had a sleeve, weght before surgery pretty much equals weight right after surgery...
