Monday weigh in!
Hi everybody!
Hope everyone had a good week! Can't make any comments on the weather since I've been working fron dawn to sunset on both days...But vacation time is only two weeks away, Yeah!!!
I've had a non-scale victory last friday: I went shopping for clothes in a REGULAR store. I've tried some XL items and came to realize that I now properly fit in large size clothes...still hard to figure!
As for weight, last week has been a good one (-1.8lbs). I did cut down on frozen treats and got enough fruits & veggies in. I also bought a gym membership and plan to begin training during vacations (no kinesiologist available for evaluation before august 17th).
What about you guys?
Have a nice week!

Wow congrats on an another amazing week Joel. Oh and that membership will do you so much good. You will feel so energized after your workouts it won't even be funny! I don't nkow where the rest of the gang is. Probably everyone's on vacation still. For me I'm still struggling and waiting for the call. Yesterday I went for 2 - 30 minute walks and played a game of hockey. Trying to get in as much excercise as I can and start to watch what I eat.
Good to hear from you buddy!
You're right about the benefits of exercising. As a pre-op, when I went for walks, all I got for reward was pain and aches. Now, exercising gives me the endorphin "buzz" I heard so much about in the past... without getting it ;-( ...I guess those endorphins are fat-soluble!... I think I'll be able to go to the gym without giving up prematurely...But it remains to be seen...
Sincere congratulations on your patience, positive attitude and continued efforts, Derek!
You've sat in the waiting room long enough, the call has got to come soon! Board members and surgeons will someday be back from vacation!
May the force be with you!

Someday they'll be back! Someday!!! :D
But for now, I'll keep with my routine and get dreaming of the day when I get to encourage other people like me who sit and wait in the shadows for their day to shine. I just came back from my mid-day walk and all I got from it was about a litre of sweat pouring down my face so I'm drinking water as I type. Literally. I just drop some on my keyboard. No jok.........e.

Hey guys, sorry I am so late posting but I am not on the puter much these days. The weather has finally warmed up and I am taking advantage of it as much as possible. Hit another milestone this past weekend....I was actually excited about going to the beach and not being embarassed in a bathing suit! It felt just 'normal'; or what I preceived should be 'normal'. Don't get me wrong, I still have thighs, fatty deposits and skin issues but I feel so much better in my skin and body. No one in particular paid any attention to me and that was what I loved about it! No stares or glares....but most of all I felt I had finally got to a place where I felt comfortable in a social setting. My biggest achievements these days are that. I am coming into my true self for the first time in 40 odd years! I am litterally leaving baggage behind and what a feeling that is!
Scale wise, I loss 1.5lbs this week. I am able to eat a bit more so my portions are looking more and more like a regular portion.
Joel, another loss is great. You'll be soon hitting your goal and a nonscale victory is also wonderful. It does take some adjustment for our minds to wrap itself around our new body size. I still am not comfortable waltzing in a regular store and feeling like I belong there.
Derek, here is hoping your wait will soon come to an end. Your attitude and changes to your lifestyle prior to surgery will make your journey a huge success my friend!
Enjoy the beautiful weather everyone!
