surgery NOT at sacre-couer???

I am so confused. Called the hospital today and asked to speak to a patient advocate, they said they don't have one - is that accurate??
They also told me that Gagner does not operate there and my name was not on file. : (

By law all Québec hospitals have patient advocates but they don't have quite the same mandate as those in the States. Ours are 'commissaire des plaintes' and they are individuals who help a patient who wishes to file a complaint or if you are insatisfied with services received. This person should be able to help you in your situation.
Jennifer do you have the name and number of the person that called you with a surgery date? He may have a private clinic. Also, he may have operating priviledges at another hospital. I would contact the Québec Board of Surgeons and find out where he practices. Good luck!

Jennifer, I just checked out the quebec association of doctors and the only Michel Gagner listed practices at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. Is this the same doctor? I know that 'flucca';the other poster said he lived in Florida. Maybe a connection. The number of the hospital is 305-674-2121. Hope this helps. Maybe he does like many surgeons, comes back in the summer to replace regular staff (all expenses paid). That may be why he is not on their regular staff list. I would call back and speak to the surgery department's secretary.

Dr Gagner just started back in Montreal on July 1st I would assume that is why he is not on the list just yet. I do know however that he is working out of Hopital du sacre couer
