Monday Weigh In....late edition
I hope everyone is hanging in there and those on the loser's bench are doing great. My stats stayed the same this week. No loss and No gain. So my CW is still 176.5. Have a great everyone and for those on vacation enjoy it to the max.

Glad that he heat wave has finally reached Gaspé! Here, pool water temperature is around 88F, so we often have to add cold water in the pool before dipping...
Brenda: I'm sure you'll enjoy this canoe trip. As weight loss is concerned, I guess it's normal that you lose weight more slowly, being as near as you are from your goal...but you're getting there!
I had a slow week too (-0.4lbs)...Wasn't as choosy as I should have been on the food I eat...Favorite sport this week: sweating...And no interest in cooking when weather is this hot and humid!
Have a good week!

Insects seem hungry in your neck of the woods! Hang on! As some say :"Les petites bébittes ne mangent pas les grosses!"... I guess the company on insects is the price to pay to live close to a salmon river

I have a hard time with hot weather these days...I can hardly imagine what it would be with 100some pounds wrapped around me...The good thing is that I can now wear a shirt without a t-shirth underneath, and be comfortable in places where there is AC!
Vacation time is coming, august 1st-21st, and I just can't wait!

What a hot week it was. It was hard not to just pick at ice cream all week. And I agree too hot to cook. So didn't eat much, but drank lots of fluids.
I guess not eating helped with loosing this week ;)

I started work again this week, it's so hard to get back into it. I was happy being home by the pool !!!
Have a great week everyone

We are having a great time! Wheather is like it was in Montreal last week, hot and humid, but we have the ocean breeze and the waves to help... We have a great hotel suite, not too expensive but ocean front, 2 rooms, a complete kitchen, washer and dryer...Thanks to trip advisor! I am on the balcony watching the waves as I write this... I love the beach, I come every year since I was 2 yo...But it is my first time in Myrtle beach and I love it... Nice sand, clean and long beaches, many stores and activities... But enough advertising for Myrtle beach...
As for my experience as a weight loss surgery "survivor" LOL, I found it difficult in the beginning... The 20 hours road trip had many challenging moments... We didn't stop every 3 hours to eat, so, even if I had brought some fruits and cheese, I was hungry and ate some chips and cookies... I didn't eat much at a time, but every hour or so... In the past, those trips were always a food party, were children and I can eat whatever we wanted... French fries on the beach, pancakes with every sweet toppings possible,... you get the picture... So at the beginning, I had to grief... But now I am ok with it, I eat a small bite of the other's food, then I return to my chicken! The groceries around here are so much different from home, so many frozen and prepared food... But also many sugar free products and many kind of greek yogourt... I live on those, they are my breakfast with some granola, and they keep me full for a long time ( 13 g of proteins...). Hope we have those someday in Quebec! I also found many flavors of sugar free syrup ( torani, but it is like DaVinci and cheaper) so I stock up on those...
I am missing my scale! I am use to weigh everyday, it reassures me that I am on the right track...
Now I don't know... But I should be ok, since I bought some clothes and size 14 fits! But I found that 14 here are bigger than at home! Last year, I was looking for 3X and didn.t find anything, this year, looking for XL, and having hard time finding it, I am always finding 3X !!! Murphy's law!
Oh and I also want to tell how much my experience is different from last year... I can walk on the beach, jumping in the waves, shopping with minor knee pain... last year I cannot... I have more knee pain than at home because of the humidity but also jumping too much in the waves, but it doesn't compares...and I don't sweat as much, I even had to buy a vest ( reebok size L for 10$ !!!) for the evening ( even if it is still 30 degrees) !!
Sorry for the long post, but I had to share this wonderful experience on how WLS changes our life!
Have a nice week everybody!
Congrats Cindy 4.5 pounds is great!
Brenda, happy the heat wave have hit Gaspé! Hope it is the same great weather for you Joel and everyone else!
Got to go, everybody is waiting for me to go shopping...Taking a break from the sun today!
((hugs))
Diane

Joel I know you're right. The weight loss will slow down and to be honest if I stay at this weight I will still be thrilled. I can still find some fat on the body lol, but I don't know where my next ten pounds will come from. Who would have thought I would have uttered those words one day! I am craving su****hese days and the last time I had it, it didn't go down so well. I tried drinking diet pop and could handle only two sips. Too much carbonation for my pouch. I don't drink it often but I like it every now and then.
Diane, so nice for you to post even on vacation! You make Mrytle Beach sound so beautiful....I will definately visit one day. My Dad is from Portland Maine so our yearly visits were always there. I would also like to visit Virgina Beach. Apparently also very nice. I think you are doing just wonderful adjusting to your new lifestyle. It is true about what you say with product selection in the states. They have so much more choices than us. I just got my Mom(who was in New Jersey last week) to buy my the new 0 sugar sweetner called Ideal. It is actually xyotol(spelling?) in crystal form. It is very tasty.I was able to try some from a free sample I ordered online. I find it has the same texture as sugar. Much more so than splenda. It is easier to use in recipes as this type of sugar replacement tolerated high temperatures. We'll see. So far for cooking I am using 3 parts Malitol to one part real sugar. You may want to pick some up at the store to try.
Have a great time shopping and wearing a size 14(yeah). Revel in all of your accomplishments and wreak the benefits. You'll find get clothes I am sure. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.
