Anyone here from Gatineau???

Hi,
I'm getting ready to have my surgery on July 14th. I heard of a support group that meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Gatineau Hospital. I'm thinking of going... but it would be nice to meet more people here from my area.

Hi Derek,
We live in Aylmer too. Apparently the support group operates in French. I hope I'll be able to communicate well. My medical and weight loss vocabulary is limited - but it will give me another opportunity to learn more. I know a few people who go to the group and they enjoy it. I don't know if I'm going to feel up to braving the heat to go there this evening... I'll be sure to let you know if I do.

Hi Doris,
My consult was on April 28, 2009. The wait time for the VSG varies between 18-24 months. Some lucky people like Diane and Kassandra were able to get it within 6 months. The Lap Band wait time is 6 to 12 months and RNY/DS have a wait time of 3 to 7 years. Hope that helps.

Doris, it's better late than never. I called the clinic up myself and then went to see my Dr. for a referal. If you want to pay out of your pocket you don't need a referal and the wait time is always less than the people who wait to get covered by the RAMQ.
