Anyone know the requirements for panni (or any PS) to be covered by RAMQ?

Title pretty much says it all... I'm curious.  I was a lightweight so I possibly won't qualify but at 140 lbs and 5'2", I swear I look at least 20-30lbs heavier just from my damn stomach. I'd say 90% at least of my excess weight (beyond just a normal BMI, I mean to look GOOD, not just decent) is in my belly.  I

've been wanting to wait to have a baby first but we're on cycle #10 of trying so I'm starting to wonder if we'll succeed.  I'll be starting testing in the fall for that.  But if I scrap the baby idea (or it's just not possible) I'm moving straight to PS.  If I can't get a panni covered by RAMQ then I'm headed to Mexico (probably a little later rather than sooner) on my own dime.

Anyone have a clue?  If anyone is interested, I know that 10 years ago (and I doubt much has changed) to get a breast reduction covered it had to be about .5 lb per breast removed. (I had that done)

I am sorry but I do not know. Hopefully someone on this board will have an idea. Thanks on the info for the breast reduction. It is something I am thinking about. I don,t have much of a stomach issue. Mine are in the thighs. It isn't looking pretty. But a lower body lift isn't something I am even considering at this point. I don't heal well and am often left with ugly scars so PS is not in my priority list right now. Maybe I'll feel differently further down the road. Nice to see a new face posting. Did you get your procedure done in Mexico? Were you satisfied with the care and surgeon? Goodluck with the pregnancy attempt.

I could and probably will get an LBL if I have to pay, just so my thighs don't rub together and the butt lift! lol

I did get it done in Mexico.  I LOVED the care and the surgeon.  Far better than any care I've received in and around the Montreal area (been an ER patient at the General and the Jewish, had surgery at the Jewish and Charles Lemoyne).  Dr. A is awesome too, I wish I could get my mom to go to him but if she ever gets WLS, it will only be for free.

For the BR - be warned, it HURTS.  ALOT.  At least, it did for me.  I got it done because they were huge and I had to buy shirts 2-3 sizes too big.  My friend had it done and said it was a breeze.  Lying ***** - I was dying but ready to get out of bed and walk to her house to kill her I was in so much pain post op.

Thanks for the well wishes.  I'm starting to either lean towards giving up trying and possibly adopting (though in QC the wait is about 7-8 years for a free and clear child, as opposed to one in foster care) or just saying no kids at all.  I can live with it either way, I have 2 nieces I adore and frequently babysit :)

Hey Brenda  I am trying to get in on a board to chat. I have my first appt. for consult Aug 30th.  I sure hope I don't have a long wait.  I am in the Quebec system. Does any know if Quebec will pay for surgery done in the USA.
