BMI now 27

Just had to share my good news. I went and calculated my bmi index today and I almost fell off my seat! I am almost in the normal range and considered overweight.....not morbidly obese. I started this journey with a bmi of 44. I am 25 pounds away from my goal weight. Even writing this seems surreal to me. I always felt I would be the one reading these types of posts never posting them. So for everyone out there still wishing and hoping let my experience carry you through til the next hurdle. This is doable and your wishes are reachable.   Thanks for listening and letting me share this wonderful piece of my journey.

Thanks for your continued support and kind words Derek. I cannot imagine what it is like to be in this 'waiting game'. It must be very difficult and unnerving at times. I hope you'll get your call soon. Know that I will be here for you when that special day comes and this journey begins for you.

Thanks Brenda. The waiting game isn't too bad. At first, it took me 3 months of calling to finally get my consult. I was obsessed with calling them and getting my surgery. Then I had to wait another two months when I finally got through. Once I had my consult and the Dr. told me it was a waiting period of 18-24 months I was a little in shock but it was better than waiting 7 years with Christou. However, the first few months following my consult I was obsessed with that one specific call. I thought to myself, maybe he has an opening and he'll call. NOPE. Months went by and I became less and less obsessed until I just told myself that my time would come eventually. I just crossed my 1 year mark so my guess is that sometime before 2011 I should be operated on. Until then I'll just keep living my life.

I'm so glad that we have a supportive family here on OH. I don't know what I would do without you guys.

Thanks girls for your support and kind words. I am doing great but I still face inner doubts form time to time. I am also struggling with 'standard' exercising. I much prefer to do things outdoors. Tommorrow I am going shopping for rollerblades.
hopefully we won't hurt ourselves too bad!
