For those of us who have dogs, this is biking with your dog. I just bought a special bar that you attach to your bike and the dog runs besides you. My dog  ( a big chocolate lab, a little overwheighted...) likes it... At first he is going before me, and it means less effort for me, but after 10 minutes, I have to force to get him going... Good exer**** for me and for him, it will help boost our weight loss!! And it is funnier than going alone! Hope doggy will get in better shape, because I want to do more than 10 min... Hey I am in better shape now than my dog!!! and he is only 4 yo.
By the way, the last time I was on a bike was in 1998, more than 12 years ago... my youngest ( 13 YO) was surprised that I know how to ride  LOL

Maybe we can share what sports we like or liked before being obese, or want to do again...

Fo now, I am going to the gym, walking and biking... before I was overweight, I played tennis, rollerblade and ski. I am not at all a sportive girl, but I like to move (well, liked it before being too obese...) Hope my knees will permit me to try rollerblade and ski again...but I am not sure about it.

And for those interested, my knees are now 80% better. When I sit for a long time ( resto, movie) I have difficulty getting up, and have to wait 5 minutes before my knees can support me (if I try to walk, they give away !) BUT THAT IS THE ONLY PROBLEM NOW!!! No pain at all, no pills, walking and shopping as I like !   And I have arthrosis 3-4 /4 so near a knee replacement . Think I will be able to wait many more years before knee surgery. So for those with knee problems, be confiant, the weight loss does help with the pain. That does not cure arthrosis, but help a lot!

Really awesome about your knees.  I have had 2 knee surgeries so I know how painful that is.

I am a total klutz so I can't fathom the bicycle-dog thing.  I am sure that I would be down on top of the dog with the bike on top of me in no time at all.

I have started swimming again and I really love it.  We are about to put in a pool so I can exercise every day at my convenience.  Can't wait!!

Here is a picture of how it works... You'll see, my dog is quite fat, so this exercise will be good for him...

I just came back, and everything went well, but sudenly, my dog saw another dog and wanted to go see him ! But the leash has a velcro protection, and it opens, instead of you falling down. But then my dog went after the other dog, and I had to get off the bike and go get him... Well, it's just the second day we go biking, guess we have some more training to do LOL

I love to swim, I was just waiting for the weather to get better to open the pool... Have to make a major clean-up of all the leaves and winter debris that are in there... I will try to swim often this summer... well, depending on the weather!

Diane I really want to try that....I have two big dogs so I am not sure how that will go! LOL. I want to get back and do kayaking. I miss that so much and of course tennis. I also would love to try rollerblading but I am not sure if I have enough balance. I am struggling with vertigo due to blood pressure adjustment and for now I am sticking with my two feet on the ground. I would love to have a swimming pool. It is just not worth the investment as summer is too short here. Bought a new bathing suit and guess what....drum roll please...size 14 top size 16 bottom. I bought a swim mini for the buttom as to hide a few skin issues with the thighs. But overall I will be going to the beach this summer and splish splashing in the waves! I will be a beach goddess!!!!! (she says to herself that girl is deliriously in denial )

You will be a beach godess this summer and it's true!!! I think when you feel wonderful inside, it shows on the outside...
OMG size 14 !!! I didn' t wear that since I was 25 LOL
Big congrats ! I just bought a swimming top and it was XL... I was so happy showing the size to my husband... But it was surely a size mistake because I tried a xxl and it was too small!!!. Anyways , it felt good ! You are lucky to be near a beach, so you don't need a pool. Hope the weather will be better than last year!
