Happy Belated Birthday Cindy!
Wowsa, 8lbs! That's fantastic. Good for you for having such willpower on your birthday, no less!
I don't have kids, but I have a husband that's absolutely useless in the kitchen, so it's still up to me to make dinner. I'm only on Optifast day 2, so making dinner for him last night wasn't so bad - I hope I don't start to resent it in the weeks to come.
Good job!

Happy (very)belated Birthday Cindy!
Indeed, a birthday can exist without cake (isn't it special!). I had my birthday supper last thursday and it felt a bit strange to attend my birthday supper without filling up on a great meal...No regrets at all...It just felt funny!
I too have grade school kids and found out that they can become an important part of our support team. Since my surgery, my kids try really hard to select healthier food and often come up with a positive comment like "Papa, ta grosse bédaine est presque toute partie!". This always makes my day!
Good luck!

Thanks everyone! Michele it is so wonderful joining out little group. Are you an ex-quebecer now living in the states?. I am happy that I haven,t really plateaued. a few humps but thing that stops for a while. slowly but surely that is my motto. I have introduced more carbs this week. I try and keep them complex carbs but not all them are. I am sticking to this plan for now and we'll see how I am adjusting.
I had a great weekend with yard work and gardening chores. My fields have been hand plowed and ready to get a few hardy seeds in.
