Monday weigh-in
Happy monday board members!
I hope everybody had a nice weekend!
Life has been good for me last week. I had much less temptations to have "extras" and I went out for a walk three times (two 4.8km and one 5.2km walk, 148 minutes approx. total). I've had to go clothes shopping (again!) and found out that I can buy jeans in straight leg cut rather than the usual comfort fit. I also bought a couple of short-sleeved shirts for about a 1/3 of the price I used to pay for oversize version...Shopping is'nt much more thrilling than it was before, but it's so much easier and cheaper!
On the business side, scale said 239.2lbs...
LW 243.4lbs
CW 239.2lbs.......-4.2lbs

Hi Diane!
I'm very happy about this loss of yours! Having a loss after stalling is always a relief (even if, in the big picture, one will evidently lose more weight eventually). Water retention is probably what masks the progression of your weight loss before periods...
And about being a man: I can asure you that it's not that easy...you would then have to deal with all these women and their hormones!!!

Good morning!
Well done Joe & Diane! Good for you Joe for getting out there and exercising.
Diane, Happy Anniversary! 75lbs... you must feel great!
I guess I can finally consider myself on "the bench" - started the pre-op liquid diet yesterday, so I guess today should be my first Monday weigh-in :)
Funny, I really expected to have gained some weight with my "last meal" syndrome - I did go out of my way in the last couple of weeks to have certain foods that I know I'm not going to have for a long time, like Baton Rouge ribs, chinese food, mcdonald's ... and yet when I got on the scale this morning, it was the same as it was when I had my appointment on April 6th.
So... starting weight is 365. Ugh.
Have a great week everyone!
Liane

Happy that you are joining us Liane! The pre-op diet is not an easy part but you'll see it will jump start you weight loss!
I sure feel great ( see my blog entry today) and younger. the number on the scale is not that important, how you feel is what counts... Someday I feel so much lighter, I think I am 150! ( but I don't even remember how it felt then, because I was weighting that in 5 th grade!!!!) And I am not as young LOL You'll see, in a few weeks, you will feel that too!!
Have a nice week, keep us posted on your diet and progress! Good luck!

Glad that you enjoyed your "farewell tour" of your favorite restaurants! Don't worry, benefits of surgery will greatly surpass regrets about losing some of the fun of eating out. Since surgery, the existence of all-you-can-eat buffets seems quite strange to me (why would someone want to eat so much???).
And about your actual weight, I think that whatever your starting weight is, the most important thing is that, with the pre-op diet and upcoming surgery, you now have a powerful tool to fight this (I suppose) long-time problem. And that's absolutely thrilling, isn't it?
Best of luck!

Hey Cindy, you are doing GREEEEEAT! 8 pounds in a week! Doesn't that feel great... and help tolerate those optifats!!!! Try not to keep too much food in the house if possible... When I did the optifast, as I wasn't making the food for family, my husband was supposed to do it, but he doesn't like that and he was always getting Mc Do, pizza and subway!! It was very difficult for me... I think they wanted to test me LOL but now that they see the results, they all are eating healthier! And my frigo and cupboards are not so packed than before and no one is complaining ( well, except my 13 years old boy who is always hungry LOL) I prefer giving him some money time to time for going to the "dep" to buy some " cochonneries" than keeping those and being tempted...
Good luck, the worst ( first week) is over...

Thanks Diane, it does feel great. I can't believe it was my Birthday on Saturday and I survived it with out any cake !!! I had a small cheat I put cheeze whiz on my celery :) I figured it's not too bad for a birthday treat.
The kids are already missing the chips they used to get once in a while, but they are being really good. My 6 year old always asks me if I'm allowed to eat that when she seems me eating.
Too cute, she's worried about me.
