Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Friday, and have a great weekend!

I have one week left of eating solid food before I go on the pre-op liquid diet ... is it normal to want to eat all of the terrible things I know I'll never (or at least not for a verrrrry long time) be able to eat again?? I have visions of ribs at Baton Rouge .... Kentucky Fried Chicken .... lol
The funny thing is that I don't even eat KFC now, except maybe once every two years, but I suddenly have a HUGE craving for it!

Have a nice weekend Liane (and everybody else)!

In my opinion, having a  couple of  "special" meals wouldn't be a major sin...Ribs at Baton Rouge sounds great to me! On the other hand, I would try to forget about KFC unless you have serious suicidal tendencies... Your liver will thank you for this!

Best of luck or your preparation for surgery, you're in the final lap of a long run!

Happy weekend everybody, hope the nice spring weather will continue!
Liane, it is normal to have food "funerals" before the diet... I had a big bag of doritos, a chinese buffet supper and I was always thinking, in the pre-op diet and the early post-op " oh, I should have eaten that for the last time..." But after surgery, you can always have a small bite of everything... Last week, we went to a resto and my kid ordered ribs... They were not as tender as Baton rouge, so I wasn't able to eat that, but I licked the sauce !!! It was sooo good...LOL

You are in the last days of your old way of life, do what you feel is right for you to be ready for the big day!

I agree also but I also think that these are cues for you to look deeper within....it is most definately head hunger and these do come back after surgery so this may be a good time to start working on that aspect of the journey......now that the sensible advice is given. A few last meals won't be that harmful in the grand scheme of things....good luck for the preop diet!

Thanks everyone - I'm trying to keep it reasonable. Ordered chinese last night, and it was pretty good! Joe, I think you're right, I'm going to skip the KFC entirely. There's one about 3 blocks away from my house, and I pass by it every day - the smell ALWAYS gets me, but I've managed to resist for so long now, I think I can keep saying no :)

What a gorgeous weekend! Hope everyone is enjoying it.
