Sorry I haven't been active these past weeks...
Hi Gang,
I'm sorry I haven't been active much on the board but I have been reading all of your stories of success and I'm really proud of all of you. Congrats to you Brenda for reachnig ONEderland. To you Diane for losing more than half the weight needed and another amazing 5.5 pounds this week. To you Joe for hitting under 250 pounds! I know what kind of number that is so be proud of yourself. Congrats to Habs_Chick (I believe) who has a scheduled date sometime in June and is starting Optifast in early May. I WISH I WAS YOU!!! And congrats to everyone else who have been keeping steady with the battle. For me, it's been up and down. I'm still trying to stick with the diet but it's really not going too well. With all these trips I've been on it's been crazy hard to stick to it but I'm still trying to watch what I eat. I'm still hovering around the 400 mark and still wish I was at the 380 mark like I would have wanted but I have to stay positive. Nobody said it was going to be easy. In a week from Tuesday it will mark my 1 year wait since seeing Dr. Garneau. I'm kinda surprised I didn't get a call from them yet because they told me in January that there were only 11 patients ahead of me and it's now been 3 months going on 4 in May. Patience Derek. PATIENCE... I know my time will come but I can't wait. I want this so bad. I'm ready. I've thought this over and I know this is what I want and what will work for me. Anyways, that's it for now. Keep it up gang! Keep inspiring us all! I know it helps me.

Hey Derek!
This board has been missing you! Thanks for keeping us posted on your situation. The efforts you are making on a continuous basis are very commendable! The energy you put in watching what you eat is money in the bank, and surely will grant surgery success.
Did you give a call to your Dr Garneau's office lately? Having a better idea of waiting period left could be an interesting source of motivation for you. Your turn will probably come quite soon!
Hang on Derek, the best is yet to come!

Thanks Joe!
No I haven't given their office a call lately. I should right? But serisouly I don't want to nag or pester them every 3 months or so just for my own sake. I know I feel like I've been here before but I like to know where I stand in the list. Knowing would go a long way to help me lose some more weight and actually get me motivated. I really hope they call me soon!

Hey Derek!
To me, calling dr's office every 3 months when you were told that your turn should come shortly doesn't constitute nagging, pestering or some kind of harassement...If you feel calling Martine would do you good, just do it buddy!
I also think your "do not over indulge" policy is perfectly right...From the start, the zero carb diet seemed quite harsh and drastic to me...certainly not something that shoulg be done on a long term basis...And remember, for your own sake, do that call!

So happy to see you posting Derek... I think you are so great to try to follow a diet, even before surgery... Even if you have hard days, what you've lost will still be lost... It is so easier for us, after surgery...I know it should be frustrating for you, not having news about your date. I'll go with Joel, call Martine and ask her...Joel needs some male company on the loser's bench!

Hi Diane,
Yes it is hard and sometimes I just simply don't do it. I just try to not over indulge in what I do eat. I know Joel needs some company and my hands have been waiving for almost a year now so that the surgeons picks me next he just hasn't found me yet. My time will come but I'm having trouble waiting.

Derek, I've missed you! This board isn't the same without you....I also want to express how courageous I think you are to keep up with this diet. It isn't easy and knowing that we are on the other side of this journey must be as Diane mentioned frustrating. Keep the faith, keep the faith. All your efforts will pay off. Sending you big hugs!

Ah that's very sweet of you Brenda. I really like the people on the board here and seeing you guys progress does keep me motivated. I just get jealous sometimes and I think that's where the trouble starts to creep back in again. I should just call to get myself reassured again by Martine. I just don't like bugging people.
