I have been reading so much about the greek yogourt in the US forums, and didn't find any here in Canada... I found that LIBERTE is now making a greek yogourt, that we can find in any supermarket. I just tried it, and it is creamy  and thick. It is plain only, but I added just a little bit of SF caramel syrup from Davinci,mmmmmiam... It's 0% fat, 6g carbs and 20 g of proteins for 175g.  It is 3.79$ for 500g container, blue with the picture of a greek house on it. I found it at IGA but if they don't have it near you, the company told me the supermarket can order it .  I think it is worth a try!

Thanks Diane for the info.  Will have to check our local IGA to see if they have it and will surely try it after my surgery.

Hi guys,

Yup it's very hard to find the "real" Greek yogurt: Fage, Oikos, Krinos. I actually had the opportunity to try them all...I was very lucky. One of my co-workers goes to the States to do her groceries every few weeks and she brought me back a couple.

I actually found a little store that does carry them...it's called Caldwell groceries. A small store in Cote St. Luc. they are not cheap but worth the try. Very high in protein with no fat!!

Did you try the liberte greek yogourt? It is supposed to be like the one in US ...0% fat and 20g proteins. It will be a good thing if you try it and let us know how it compares to the ones you tasted...

Hi Everybody and Happy Friday!!

I finally got a chance to try the Liberté Greek Yogourt (I'm actually sitting here with it now...lol)

I'm trying the Vanilla flavour so the  Nutrition Facts are a little different:

Calories 150
Carbs   20g
Protein   18g
Fat   0g

The flavour is actually very good. As thick as the others and a bit tangy as well. I really like the consistency of this one. Next time I will try the "plain" one and add flavouring to it. If anyone watches the Biggest Loser even Bob was talking about the benifits of Greek Yogourt.

So I give it my 2  up!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
xoxo

Hi Diane,

I went to IGA like you did...maybe they're slowly getting in other flavours.

I finally  tried this new yogourt! I went for the vanilla version and was very satisfied with taste and texture. This yogourt is very rich and mouthfilling and recalls mascarpone cheese (with a fraction of the calories...). I can assure you that, mixed with banana slices and some sugar-free chocolate syrup, it's absolutely "cochon"!

I will definitely try the plain version to whip some dips...Should work out great!
