Hi everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. I was able to get a walk in the woods without snowshoes. It was a beautiful day! Then picked up dog poo for an hour! Uhg. The pleasures of owning two big dogs and spring time.

I am quite upset this morning....more scared than upset. For the first time since surgery I gained weight. Two pounds. I guess this will be a week to face my demons. OK, I need not to freak out about two pounds...right. Right.

Hi Brenda!

This weekend weather sure invited us to spend time outside! I've begun working around the house a bit (storing winter stuff).

I don't think you should worry about those 2 pounds...We will all, sooner or later, experience  weeks without weight loss. Keep in mind that it's temporary. Also keep in mind that being more active helps muscular development, and that, augmentation of muscular mass may mask fat loss scale-wise (even though you're getting healthier!). Don't be hard on yourself.

I had a slow week too. I lost 2 lbs even though I didn't eat that much (because of a bad cold) and I did exercise more than usual...

Thanks Joel for your words of wisdom.  If I am truly honest with myself, psychologically and rationally I know this is normal. It is just the fat girl afraid of failing yet again that from time to time gets the best of me.  I needed to hear those words from someone else. Much appreciated. Merci.

Hello friends... How was your week end, despite the no so good weather? We had snow yesterday here... gift for the spring... I've been to the gym friday and sunday, but most of the weekend was cleaning the house, and other chores... Since surgery, I wasn't feeling like doing too much chores, so now, I've got to catch up!  I am not so thrilled with my weight loss this week, 2 pounds... I figured that in the beginning I should lose more rapidly...  I am so afraid not to lose all my excess weight because everybody says that the first 6 months are the Honeymoon period, and  to try to lose most of the weight in that frame time, because it will be difficult after.  But what can I do? I eat 500-600 cal a day( not able to get more) I was able to up my proteins to 55-65 g a day, but I still struggle with liquids, I cannot drink more than 750 ml a day, because if more, I get too full and cannot eat at all.  I started exercise, hope it will help. 

Brenda, it must be so scary, I understand how you feel... But it is IMPOSSIBLE to really gain FAT with what we eat... It surely is water retention or something like that.  Sure it will be better next week.
We are so used to those diets that didn't work for long, than it's difficult to believe we will achieve our goals... But we will!!!  Hey, don't make me think about all the things the dog left outside during winter... Next weekend work...

It seems that this is a slow week for everyone... Must be something with the spring!  But congrats to everyone, we are making the efforts to eat well and exercise, that what counts !

Thanks Diane for the encouraging words......you pretty well understand where I am coming from. I guess all of us here does.  I just needed to put it out there to deal with it.

Two pounds is great Diane. I lost that consistently for at least four months and I still managed to get to 90lbs loss at six months.  I heard and read the honeymoon period was more like 12 months. Maybe that is just for RNY....I am not sure.

Looks like everyone had one of those rough weeks. Same goes for me. I had finally hit the 300's on Tuesday at 399.6. Wednesday 398.2. Thursday 398.6. Friday 399.6. Weird how I stuck to the diet only eating 600 calories and still managed to gain weight. But then I was off the diet for 4 days in Quebec city. I didn'****ch what I ate I just enjoyed my weekend. Monday morning I weighed in at 402.2. I was back on the diet yesterday and this morning I'm still a 402.2. So in one week I managed to lose ZERO points but I'm glad I didn't gain any. Next weekend I'm in Montreal for a stag. Lots of drinking and eating. Let's hope I can still manage to lose some weight. I'm on the diet until Friday. That 380 goal by April 8 is looking pretty hard to accomplish but I'm still trying.

Here are my numbers: 

Start Weight: 414 lbs.
Last Week: 402.2 lbs.
This Week: 402.2 lbs.
Next weeks goal: 398.2 lbs.
Goal Weight for Surgery: 380 lbs.

Loss this week: ZERO

Nope I didn't get the call. I think I would have started 10 posts with I GOT THE CALL as the header if I had gotten it. No April 8th is going to be 30 days since I'm "ON" my low-carb diet. It'll give me an idea of what I am capable of. April 8th is also my brothers 20th birthday so hopefully it will be a good day for me. Another reason why I want to lose is because me grandmother comes back from Florida in mid-april so I want her to notice that I lost some weight. When my grandma tells me I've lost some I know it's true. She knows me better than anybody and she is truly supportive in any attempt I have to lose weight.

On a side note, I'm back at 399.6 this morning!!! YAY

That's what I figured, that you'll be so happy to tell when you will have THE call... It will come soon, i'm sure... great you have a very good relationship with your grandma... We all need all the support we can get !
