A few victories!
I had my follow-up apointment this morning. I now weigh 265 pounds and the results of my blood analysis are good. Dr Hould seemed quite satisfied with what he saw. On the not-so-good side, I've got to take antibiotics because last week trip to Cuba caused some intestinal casualities...
In the "non-scale" department: I've taken a look at my Cuba pictures and realized that most of the clothes I wore (that have been bought in the last couple of years) were ridiculously big now...I definitively have to go shopping in the next few weeks!
Later this morning, as most of the streets in my neighbourhood are ice-free, I got my mountain bike out out of the garage, got tires inflated and...Surprise! I can now get on my bike without rims touching the ground or risking bursting a tire as I ride! Can't wait for my first bike ride with my 8 years old son!
For some of us who are waiting for surgery: Hang on! The benefits of bariatric surgery really do exist.

Wow down to 265 in just a matter of must is quite an achievement to be proud about Joel. Having to but new clothes as well because your clothes is too big is also a major achievement. As for the bike, I know exactly what you mean. I still try to bike every summer but 2 years ago I bent one of my rims pretty bad because of my weight. Hopefully I won't need to do that again in a couple of years.
Bravo Joel, que d'accomplissements en si peu de temps! Les bénéfices de la chirurgie en valent vraiement la peine... For the bike, it's been so long since I used it, I think it is still those ten speeds model with the turn handles you know? LOL I think the last time, my older was like 5 or 6 years old and he is now 16! I am not sure if he will be thrilled to bike with his mother though!!!!
It is great you can offer this kind of fatherhood to your son now, he will be very happy!
As for the clothes, I think post-op men are the only ones that are happy to go shopping!
You are coming back from Cuba, lucky you! Tell me, how were you fitting in the avion seats? It is the reason why I don't take many vacations, I have to go first class and it is too expensive...

As for clothes shoppping: I will probably never like it except for the fact that it will become much cheaper and that sport clothing is much easier to find for skinnier perple then obeses...(fouille-moi pourquoi?!?)
As for plane seating: I never had tu use a belt extension (I preferred holding my breath ). Seating was much more comfortable and crossing people in the aisle was much easier (as in possible!).
And last pm, right after homework, my son and me went for the historical ride...It was a blast for both of us...I can't for trails to dry up!
