My name is Elena. I'm 35 and living near Gatineau, Quebec with my partner and our little 13 month old son. I'm currently on the waiting list with Dr. Atlas and will also be getting the vsg surgery. I think this forum is an amazing source of support and information, I only wish I had found it a few years ago!

I"m Cindy, 32 years old. Married, mom of 2 beautiful girls aged 4 and 6. I have been on a waiting for Dr. Atlas since Feb. 2008. I finally got called a few weeks ago for my pre-op blood tests. Martine told me should be before summer. I also had the group meeting with the dietician at the same time.

Welcome to the board. That's great news that you got the call! I can't wait for mine as well. I'm also glad you came out of the woods and introduced yourself. We are trying to get this forum going and the more active people on here the better it will be in the long run.

hi Cindy - welcome to the forum! I'm happy to see you are getting things started with dr. atlas soon, he's my surgeon as well. So it really was about a 2.5 year wait I guess, but I bet things will move pretty fast now for you! must have felt great to get that call!
i'm wondering, did they tell you how long you would have to do optifast for? I'm really curious about that...I recall being told that because my weight is around 365lbs that i'd be on a liquid diet for 6 weeks prior to surgery.
