Surgery postponed

Got bad news today.

Martine called me Friday afternoon to tell me that there was an irregularity with my ECG.

Yesterday, she verified with Dr. Atlas and he said that I should not have a surgery before I see the cardiologist. As my surgery was planned for tomorrow, no time to see the Dr. before.

Since Dr. Atlas doesn`t do any surgery during summer time, Martine said that I will be the first one when he come back at the end of August.

What a dissapointment after going through 4 weeks of Optifast.

I understand that it is done for my security but it is still very sad to be all set and ready and being told last minute that it will not happen.

How sad... I understand your disappointment... and after having done 4 weeks of optifast! But you better know now that there may be a problem and correct that, than having complications on the surgery table...but I know how hard it should be for you, all ready for the day... Take the summer to continue to eat well, and take care of you, so you'll be in great shape for the surgery and not risking complication...
Take care!
((hugs))

I feel so much for you and what you are going through....I too had to delay surgery as they had found something pertaining to my heart. Know that we are here to support you and see you through this. You will get there at one point. It seems all too unfair right now but remember the bigger picture, it is better that they found whatever it is prior to surgery. I am sending you a virtual hug and best wishes for a full recovery. Keep us posted and keep visiting us. Again I am so sorry for your setback.

Wow what a real bummer. It's hard to imagine what you are feeling right now but like Brenda said, it's better that they found this out before surgery then having complications during surgery. At least for now you have managed to lose a bit of weight on Opti-Fast and it should at least jump-start you to keep trying to lose until August. Maybe this time they will only get you to do 2 weeks of Opti-Fast instead of 4. Keep your chin up! We are here for you!

I'm so sorry to hear that. It must be terribly disappointing, and I know it must be hard to try to keep in mind that it's for the best - get things checked out and be sure you're in top shape before having the surgery.

Try not to despair .... the end of August is around the corner, and these months will fly by.

*hugs*

Sorry to hear about the set back. But as everyone stated it's a good thing that it will be taken care of before surgery. Losing weight is the goal but we need to be strong and healthy to be able to go through the process.

Keep us posted as we're all hoping for speedy and safe surgeries.

Take care,
Ada
