I would never dream of trying to talk anyone into MY choice. I couldn't care less what surgery anyone has.
They do protest too much!

I think I said 2 cups of skim milk, and it ended up being 1 3/4 for the package of pudding I had. It's SOOOOO good!

Hemorrhoids!
I had them for each pregnancy and they went away - a little OTC cream for the discomfort and they left on their own.
I've had this problem for 5 months now. I went to my primary care doc - he told me all the things I'm already doing (hey, I have internet access). Increase water, more fiber (but not too much), go when you need to go.... don't strain, sitz baths, bought a dang donut for my car but can't bring myself to use it at work.
So here we are 4 months later and I can barely sit. My butt is on fire. I bleed every time I pass gas (much less have a BM). I itch, I burn, I'm losing my mind. Trust me - when the butt ain't happy NOBODY is happy.
I had another appt with my primary care 2 weeks ago with the same results. I was hoping for a referral to a specialist (proctologist?) or a prescription for something stronger than what I can get OTC or SOMETHING (can you tell I'm frustrated).
Any suggestions would be welcome.

The most aggressive in defending their choice are those whose choice was the hardest. They may say it wasn't, but no intelligent person is going to have such major surgery without a great deal of thought. I have no quarrel whatsoever with their decision. If it works for them - fantastic! If my band doesn't continue to be so fantastic for me, I will look at other WLS - and consider all types. But if it was an easy decision, they were not being sensible.
We had a less difficult decision. The surgery was less and the procedure can be reversed. It may be harder to lose weight but if we don't succeed we can, if we wish, have another form of WLS. So still a major decision but not as great as for others.
So, classically, we don't have to defend our choice so aggressively.

Question. Did it hurt??? You really love your husband. Right now I would like to plaster a tattoo on my hub saying "I will try to adjust to life at home since retirement". The longer the sentence the better. LOL That is a cool tattoo. He can look at it from his side of the bed and you can see it from your side. Clever. Diane

Well, Sweetness, there are two things, I'm praying for, and those are for you to be free of pain, and to have some peace of mind for a change! You'll know down the road, if you want to take another WLS road, but FIRST, I'm praying for a good report from the scope, but at this point, that at best is being optimistic. You make sure you let us know the results, honey!
