I went to the Cincinnati Spine Institute today. I have had low back pain and mid back spasms for a couple of years now. Not only did I see my port.... I saw NO SPACE whatsoever between my vertebrae from L4-5 on down! NO F*CKING WONDER my back has caused pain for the past two years. So apparently my disks... or what used to be my disks are "desicated"... or whatever. What they are not doing is cushioning my vertebrae as they are supposed to. The neurosurgeon says it is not a surgical thing. A fusion MIGHT relieve the pain... then might not. AND..... losing another 50 lbs MIGHT help the pain... might not. Great. At least I know now that I am not just a WUSS..... He referred me to a Physiatrist. Maybe then I may be able to get my hands on some muscle relaxants/pain meds. AND... get SOME pt or some opinion as to what to do next. I now categorically state that many of the double shots of vodka I have had in the past couple of years have been poured thru my band for PAIN relief. The neurosurgeon says that there is a BIG lawsuit going on about a PCP who prescribed vicodin and muscle relaxants for a patient who went out and caused a wreck which crippled a child. THUS... PCP is being sued. If the doc loses, this will be a NIGHTMARE for anyone who needs pain meds and hopes to get them from a pcp. I guess liquor stores aren't liable for selling booze. GO figure.

Always a day behind and a dollar short!! It's snowing here, we're supposed to get a lot but it doesn't seem to be sticking! For Monday, home with my daughter, she was sick: B: steel cut oatmeal w/nat peanut butter (that was yummy!) L: None...I laid down with my daughter and we slept through lunch 4pm: taco soup on top of a hot dog, no bun, only ate 1/2 of the dog, got stuck 8pm: salad at moms house after dropping DD off to spend the night so I could go to work today! Salad was wonderful, I need to eat more salads. I think I'm going to start trying to eat them for lunch.

Well, hon, you had surgery, and then the flu, and that had to whack you pretty hard! You'll get back, soon, I'm sure! I have to laugh, at Phyllis's response, with the pill. According to the Sci-Fi movies from years ago, we should all be just taking food pills to eat, in 2008!~ ha That would take care of a lot of our problems!

I hope your doggy is OK. My cat has had a mystery limp off and on for a few weeks now, vet can't figure out what's wrong with him, nothing shows up on x-rays. he's been on steriods and that doesn't really seem to be helping. It hurts him enough that he won't come upstairs anymore where my bedroom is (and normally he is waiting outside the bedroom door every morning).
