Topic: RE: Trouble eating lately...
Marcia,
I would spend the next 2 days on liquids. Don't worry about calories, just keep it liquid. Soups, yogurt, protein drinks, etc. Let your stoma have a good rest.
When you resume eating in a couple of days, introduce solid protein, slowly (no eggs) and see how you do. You could just be irritated from the PBing. If you're still just as tight, you might need just a bit taken out.
Sorry you're feeling crummy!
Topic: Trouble eating lately...
Sunday I PB'd on my own orange chicken from the crockpot.
Yesterday I had a piece of cheese omelet at ihop and spent the rest of the meal in the bathroom sliming and PBing again.
Today I thought I would try a scrambled egg at home and I got the terrible stuck feeling again. Luckily I stopped before the sliming started this time.
Yesterday I only had about 500 calories and not much more for Sunday. I have no problem with liquids and I have had small amounts of tuna salad with no problem. I have been filling up on only a few bites. I had a bad sore throat and cold last week but that is better. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? A person cannot live on tuna fish alone!
I have an appointment to go to my pcp. in a few days.

Eggs have been trouble for me since banding, no matter what my restriction level is. They just don't work!
That's why I have oatmeal or cereal, then I don't have to think about it!
Topic: RE: I saw my port and tubing today... no flipped port here!!
Thanks, Marcia! I think I am finally on the right track, anyway.

I am still having trouble with really solid protein and I don't know why.
Monday it was chicken. Yesterday morning it was an egg at ihop. Today it was an egg at home...
Breakfast: hot tea with lemon, a little piece of a scrambled egg
Lunch: Tuna salad, sugar free apple sauce
It's after 10:00 and I still haven't eaten dinner...

I hope that they find a way to give you the relief you need.

Topic: RE: Interesting band report!
That is really good to know. I have been worrying about my band being close to capacity.

I am so sorry Ron! My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope that you will find something soon.

The only pain meds I have been able to get were from the Rheumatologist.... 200 mg/day Tramadol with ONE refill and really, they only barely take the edge off. I really haven't found them to be ANY fun...LOL. What REALLY DID work was the prednisone she wouldn't give me and I bought ONLINE. (I just wanted the prednisone for my cruise in NOV and the WENCH would NOT even give me a Medrol dosepak). GEESH. Well NOOOOOO you don't want that if you are trying to lose weight!! I had NO PAIN for the whole two week vacation with NO pain killers.
I was a work comp adjuster for 5 years and I saw LOTS of injured workers who got addicted to drugs like vicodin and then oxycontin. There was actually one young man who had to go to a methadone clinic to get off the vicodin!! (He was in KY and I was more or less required to pay for that treatment too.)
I just wish for the opportunity to make my own decisions about what to take without feeling like I have to beg the doctor!! It is MY risk and the frigging doctors I have been dealing with just WILL NOT give me anything much... even the muscle relaxants. WHEREAS... my daughter goes to the PCP (SAME PCP I go to) and CRIES AND screams and gets Ativan and most anything she wants. I guess I need to perfect the scream/cry technique. I just CAN'T bring myself to do that!! Hopefully the Physiatrist will give me some help.
I like the Grey Goose...... but then Absolut is pretty good and WAY cheaper! Thanks for your reply. I'm surely didn't take it as a lecture.
