We've known about your little island for sometime. I didn't realize it was OH endorsed. However, it is still public so if someone wants to start flinging dung, don't be surprised if some get flung back. It has nothing to do with wishing anyone ill. I have nothing against Phyllis, and hope she gets her issues fixed.

1-How nice of you to make jokes about people who have had procedures that are not the same as the one you have chosen. Because so many people here accuse others of committing that very same sin. 2--There is a legal construct that says that "the eyes cannot commit a trespass." I cannot "eavesdrop" to a post on a public board. You want to tell a secret? Send a PM. 3--Yes, your friend is trying to work the tool she has. That is ALWAYS the advice from the Bandistas. They leave out the part--the honest part--about how many banded people are still truly miserable and truly fat and blaming themselves. (Well, of course, they have the help of the Bandistas who keep lecturing that if they'd only "work their tool." Yeah...Right. Read the stats.) 4--I don't need your help deciding how to allocate my time. I'm a happy old retired woman with all the time in the world. And it's fun to think of how your tax dollar is helping to pay for that ride. 5--I'm not selling the DS or any other procedure. I'm just telling people about how bad the band can be. 6--If you are happy with your band and not fat, you are in the minority. It's in the numbers. Sue

Topic: MY HUMBLE APOLOGIES
I made a "flip" comment about DSers yesterday in response to Phyllis and it seems to have snow-balled into something ugly. Little did I know they are hanging on our every word and ready to pounce. How sad is that? Sorry friends...I think it will be okay though, let's just don't play the game. Let's get back to what we do best, SUPPORT! Onward and upward!

I have always really liked him. He has kept his marriage intact, which is almost impossible in Hollywood. He seems like a nice guy. I'm sure he has a fight ahead of him, and I wish him well!

You know Phyllis, regardless of what you might think, I don't just care about DS people. I care about anyone who has been MO. I think it's important to be honest with preops about the problems and effectiveness of wls. I just don't see that happening when you folks have 2 forums. Coming here had nothing to do with educating preops, it had to do with ugly comments posted in a public forum. LeaAnn certainly doesn't need my help to defend her but if you are going to start slinging crap on a public forum, don't be surprised if it gets slung back. I am fond of sex and travel but will do so on my terms. I hope you feel better soon and get your issues sorted out.

Phyllis, Last I saw she was still pre-op but had been approved.

It seems that LeaAnn's agenda here is only one of defense. I mean...was she not attacked on this very public forum with the assumption that DSers didn't know that it was here and being misused (as it obviously listed as an international forum and not a sanctuary for vet banders)? I would hope that if the DSers had used a public forum on OH as their "special place" and said something degrading about you and you read it, you would come to defend herself. That's simply an issue of self respect.

Speaking of the DS board, has anyone heard from starbucks Tammy lately? Did she have her surgery?

I would try to get them to cover it of course, and maybe could manage it, but I can't rely on that to happen. They don't just not cover the band, they specifically do not cover any treatment for morbid obesity or weight loss. I switched surgeons though and I'm with one now that is in my network. I then got a referral from my PCP to the surgeon to be eval'd for reflux and dysphagia, so they covered my endoscopy and they'll probably cover my barium swallow since it was also to check for "reflux." Who know what reason we could come up with for a surgery if it came to that!
