I hope that this can be taken in such a way as to not start a bunch of crap but maybe make us think a little before we say stuff. The DS'ers never posted on this forum until one post in one thread took a cheap shot at LeaAnn. You can't expect to throw a punch at somebody without considering the possibility that they will haul off and let you have it right back. They didn't come here to make fun of the band. They came here in response to that post. They did not post on Rose's thread at all. If they came here to band bash that's exactly what they would have done, and they didn't. They kept their posts focused on the thread that they were offended by. That has not always been the case and I'm not sticking up for their behavior in other instances but this time I don't think they attacked anyone without provocation. Heck, they have had a banded person (Dee) over on there board claiming to be DS pre op and rny with multiple ID's stirring up crap and they have not lumped all of us in with her so I'm not going to lump all of them in with Scotty either.

Folks, one of these days you're gonna have to get used to the fact that obesityhelp.com forums are OPEN TO THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD, and that any sense of "privacy" or "safety" or "refuge" is very misplaced. I have a great deal of empathy for the desire to have a safe place of refuge and some degree of privacy or sense of ownership of a place where people can share with one another. THIS VENUE IS NOT IT. If you want to create a "safer" place, one that you feel more assured about calling your "own," there are many places online where you can build your own forum and make it invitation-only. Yahoo Groups, MSN Groups, Network54.com, Delphi Forums....These are just a few of the older, better known platforms where you can do this. But as far as Obesity Help forums go, *especially* the forums that are still in this older format, there is no such thing as a private place. If you don't want to risk ANYONE IN THE WORLD reading *and* responding to your stuff, don't post on OH. It's really that simple. This place is not and probably will never be all things to all people.

although I don't belong anywhere but the non sugical forum...LOL... I have to agree, I am totally discourage by that action taken or lack there of for the blasphemy thread. I was horrified and sickened by the poster, thinking that what was posted originally was funny, it was insulting enough for her to make fun of my sacred Soveriegn God, but what the original thread contained was jokes of sodomy and petifile behavior, although they made her "clean up" *sigh* the thread, they allowed it to be posted again, and she states in the new thread that some folks misunderstood. Oh our eyes are wide open. My contribution to this website will be minimal, as it doesn't deserve people with common sense. But I have to say, the friends I have made here... I'm addicted to you, and your success is exciting!
