I have a surgery date!!!

Hi, for those that may be discouraged, I have good news! I saw Dr. Ellsmere in Halifax in April. I am booked for surgery on June 3rd! I was on the waiting list for Dr. MacDonald, I got agressive in the last year, When Halifax opened up again. I went for it full force. Dr. Ellsmere doesn't do lists he said, if you get to see him, you are in, in roughly a month! It's true. He was booked for May and I was the next one in! He doesn't do alot yet. But there is another doctor there and they are hoping a 3rd will join them. Get your letter from your doctor sent, and keep checking in. Prove you want and need this bad. I did. and it worked! Belinda I also live on PEI and have been wondering about weight loss surgery. I notice you had your doctor send the referral in Dec. What did your doctor require in order to make the referral. my bmi is 54.9 and I am very worried as I am a young mother. I mostly have back problems right now and I am wondering what I need to do to prove I am a good candidate and if they need to see other health related problems stemming from the extra weight to consider it necessary. Also, is there a charge to you. I have a lot of questions, I am going to call my dr and set up an apt to ask for a referral but that will take a month so I am wondering in the meantime, if we could chat and I could ask you a few more questions.

Wow!  you are so lucky.  I just sent in my referral to Dr. Ellsmere.  I hope I can get in just as quick.  Did you start calling immediatly?
