Talk about Vetrans, I was the FIRST EVER post on the Lap Band Fourm so you can say that I am kind of responsible for all the mess - LOL. So, what bout it? Can I join?

Thanks! Take a look at my "latest posts" on the main LB board and then read back to my post from May of 2003 by clicking on page 18. I was on OH for a few months prior but I wound up stumbling across the main forum one night and said, hey, what is this a LAP BAND Board? Why don't I try to post. They maintained that post on the 18th page but others in between were cut out as I am sure they do not keep everything. I get kind of nostalgic because OH helped me to make my decision to get the lap band and WLS in general. It was much better back then with nobody being as rude as they have been recently. Although I have not been as active or as successful, I have had no complications and my band is still secure after almost 5 years. I will make this work one of these days because I got it knowing that I could make it work when I needed it. Want to stay positive and on the board and really prove that it can be done, nearly 5 years later. Isn't that why we were banded in the first place, knowing it would be there when we needed it? I was really surprised when the new doc's psych consult assumed that I was there for a revision. I told her very loudly, NO, I am here to make this baby work! Luckily she wants to help me to get there. Melissa

Thanks Butter, so smooth and creamy. Nice to see you again. Are you considering my offer of assistance?. I just returned to the boards last week. Had a busy and productive life in the meantime. Got my MS and my MBA, considering my PhD. Got a new job and moved to Chicago, got married too. Was too busy to post but I have always had something nice to say when I was here. I have seen so many of these people be so successful. When you go away for a month or a year at a time and then see the difference it is incredible. Always an optimist though and yes, I was first here. I remembered when people were here to help and it was a fun place to come. Hoping that we can get to be friends. Best Regards, Melissa
