I'm lucky in that the world will always need school teachers! We may not pull down six-figure salaries, but we DO have job security! lol I have been very very VERY depressed...just a result of losing family members and being ill myself. And hating the job I used to adore! Much to my dismay, I may have to up my meds. I'm not getting a whole lot of relief...altho' Nathan keeps saying it's okay to be depressed. There are ebbs and flows in life. I guess I should listen to him and not be so quick to medicate. BUT I hate hate hate feeling like this...barely enough energy to awaken in the a.m., staying in my jammies all weekend every weekend, praying nothing will take me from my comfort zone (home) except work and classes. Not a good way to live. I'll see what spring brings!

I just want to hit the 100lbs gone mark....14 more to go! I want to get off this plateau that I've been on for 4 months and I want to start walking at night when the weather breaks...I love to walk. One big goal is my family and I are going to ride a 14 mile bike trip. My DH and son already have done it, but my daughter and I haven't done it. We need to train for it! I'm also going to walk the 8 miles to my mother's house. It's not a marathon, but my own personal "I CAN DO THIS" achievement.

Karen, Sounds like a great goal and I love that you're doing it with your daughter. The more you teach her at a young age, the more she'll benefit as she gets older. Good for you!

Mine's fitness related not weight related. Every year we have an event across the whole country in which, in 100s of locations, women run or walk 5k (just over 3 1/4 miles) in aid of breast cancer research. Last year I was just at my goal weight. Walking that distance was no challenge so I went for speed and did it in 35 minutes. This year I want to do it in 30 mins. That requires serious speed for an old lady like me!! But being 20lbs BELOW my goal weight should help!! Kate

Yup....I've been really lazy abou****ching my food and doing exercise. I'm at that age where I really have to be concerned with the exercise cause my knees are bothering me and I have a problem with my ankle from when I fell many years ago....exercise it definitely the key to keep them from getting worse........so, my goals are to get back to the gym and my walking program - I meet with friends twice a week for a 3.5 mile walk around the lake. Gotta start being more aware of what I'm eating and then the pounds will start to come off again........I've been kind of stagnant in my loss and I still have a ways to go. Good post Nancy............we all need this positive motivation....I'm glad winter is almost done. Anita

I'd like to get under 200lbs. I've been stuck and going up. Hope to see my doc this week to get my fill back!!! I'm also going to start walking.

Ok Nancy, If I put them out here, then they are real. I need that, SO HERE GOES. I would like to lose 15 more pounds by my Children's graduations in May. (One from Jr High and one from High School) AND by late October (our anniversary)--I want to be at goal! OMG I said them out loud now I must achieve. Thanks for the thread. B

Great post! I would like to be able to do the Race for the Cure in Philly on mother's day. It's a 5K that goes from the art museum (the steps Rocky ran up) through the city and back. It's pretty emotional in the beginning. All of the breast cancer survivors come down the steps in pink shirts. I did it once before and could not keep from crying as I watched them. My other goal is to be at my goal by my birthday in June.

Well, my goal, for this summer, is not for myself, but to try to get Michael out more, and involved, in more avtivities. he won't get any better, but he, will feel better, and therefore, so will I!~ I'd like to spend more time at the Alpha women's center, helping unwed mother's, too!It still freaks me out seeing a lot of them, wearing my old clothes, I donated, after, I hit goal! I can't seem to fit everything, in! ha How did I ever find time, for my job?! ha

I would like to have 15 lbs. off by June so I can feel comfortable in a bathing suit . Right now I'm having trouble staying motivated to exercise . I usually go four days to the gym but the other days are iffy . I just can't seem to stay on schedule with it . I would love to get a part time job . I have been really bored lately . ~ Cindy
