Singature help?

Anyone know off hand if an image in the sig has to be jpeg or jif? I'm trying to upload this cool pic and cant seem to save the picture as a jpeg to upload it which is odd since I copied it off this website.

Oh that's true. I can't even see my sig here. But that's ok since I post in a few places.
