Speaking of the DS board, has anyone heard from starbucks Tammy lately? Did she have her surgery?

Phyllis, she had her surgery, and had many problems! She had I believe, several more emergency surgeries. She thought she was going to die. She was in the hospital quite sometime. I read this lurking on the sex board!

Is that the Tammy that had the band and wanted the DS...had the baby when she still had the band? That's too bad if it's the same Tammy we're talking about.

Yes, that is the same Tammy. That is really awful that she is going through that now. I hope that she will heal and recover and get the results that she wants from her surgery. It really is a shame that any of even need surgery to battle obesity, but I see no other way. Tammy has a lot of good qualities and at least one small child to raise. Let's all wish her the best and a quick recovery and wonderful life.

I always thought she was waaaay too light for the DS. That's the surgery you always see those people on the discovery channel having --you know the ones that are 700lbs and have to get a special ambulance... I bet she will be sick for a long time to come. Can't believe her starbucks health ins was good enough to pay for the surgery.

That IS an interesting post from Simpson. So, his patient demographic included too many people who were too stupid to follow simple instructions? Fascinating. I wonder how all the other DS doctors got lucky enough to have mostly COMPLIANT patients? ALSO fascinating is the part where he explains that at the three or four year mark, he had something like a 2% patient follow-up rate. That's pathetic. Maybe the patients weren't the whole problem.
