I hope you don't need another surgery. But if you do, are you sure insurance won't cover? I only ask because when I had my band and my slip, my insurance did not cover the band (they do now). So, they didn't cover the original, but they did cover the second surgery. At first they denied it, but I talked to somone explained the situation and they covered it. I would try to get them to cover it of course, and maybe could manage it, but I can't rely on that to happen. They don't just not cover the band, they specifically do not cover any treatment for morbid obesity or weight loss. I switched surgeons though and I'm with one now that is in my network. I then got a referral from my PCP to the surgeon to be eval'd for reflux and dysphagia, so they covered my endoscopy and they'll probably cover my barium swallow since it was also to check for "reflux." Who know what reason we could come up with for a surgery if it came to that!
