Miss Hannah Marie is here!
I'm a little late updating. My water starting leaking on Tuesday Feb. 12. I got admitted to the hosptial, but since I wasn't dilated or having contractions they agreed to let me wait on my doc to do the c-section the next morning. She wasn't on call and I had never laid eyes on the oncall doctor.
Hannah Marie was born at 8:34 Feb 13th. She weighed 6 lbs 11 oz and was 19 inches long. She has a head full of blonde hair and blue eyes. So far everyone thinks she looks like me. She for sure has my frown. It is so funny to see the same little furrows on her head. It's like looking in a mirror. Hannah was stubborn and didn't want to be born yet. My doc said that was the most difficult section delivery she has had. Hannah kept wiggling away from her. Even the anesthelogist had to help push on my stomach so that the doc could get ahold of her. She used the vaccum to help pull her out, but all that did was leave a knot on her head.
I had some pretty bad bleeding after the section and had to be sedated to be able to stand the pain of the nurses pushing on my stomach to remove the clots.
I had a few shots and a suppository and finally the bleeding was under control. One of the nurses had mentioned a hysterectomy...which of course scared me to death!
Hannah developed Jaundice from the knot on her head. She also lost down to 6 pounds and 1 oz. I'm breastfeeding, but we had to start supplementing with formula to help get rid of the jaundice. We did tube feedings, because I didn't want to confuse her with a bottle.
Hannah is 2 weeks old today and we are both doing great. She is nursing like a champ and hopefully will get back to her birth weight before much longer. I've already lost what I gained during pregnancy (plus more!). I weighed 212.5 this morning. I'm hoping to make it to onederland before much longer!
I have pictures on my profile if you would like to see my baby!

Amy...
I am so happy to hear that all is well ...
I have been thinking of you often...It does sound like you went thru a time...but happily now she and you can spend lots of time together...(there is nothing like the Mommy and baby time...)
I am sitting here at Sonda's...with my newest...she is a cutie...but not nearly as much hair as Hannah...
Elliott Grace is a carbon copy of her Mommy...(at least I think so...) Babies are really God's GREATEST miracle...
Congratulations....a job WELL DONE...
