I have an official DIETER living with me!

...my husband! He has embraced the Weigh****chers lifestyle. He has no trouble with it, and has only complained a couple of times of being frustrated or hungry. He's down 23 pounds and moved his belt over 3 notches. He's pretty ****y about it too. I know now that I have real "head" issues with food. Some days, dieting depresses me. I know that food should not affect me in that way, but there are some days where I need some grease and some cheese. Call the food police. He is now encouraging me to stay with it, and is BY FAR the superior dieter! BTW, I'm down 9 pounds since starting this, compared with his 23. He informed me this morning, that if I would write every bite down, I would be losing better.

Nancy - I think it is great that you and your husband are working as a team to make a healthier lifestyle for yourself. What great support you must be for each other. Congrats on the 9 pound weight loss. I keep juggling with the same 2 pounds up and 2 pounds down. GGGrrrrr!

I really AM very proud of him, I didn't think he had it in him to diet and stick with it. It has taught him about portion control...1 beer is okay, 4 is too much! Sadly, my 9 pounds is weight that I've already lost. I'm still up 10 over my lowest, but at least I'm going in the right direction!

I, too, think it's terrific, you're doing this together, and tell him, CONGRATS!~You, have done so great, figuring out what to eat, and making it interesting for him, and you KNOW, men, lose easier, than we, do! Nine pounds, is nothing to sneeze, at, hon! I write down everything I eat, always have! That way, I can't cheat on myself! ha I'm really bad at picking, while I cook! Can't do that!

He has the testosterone thing going on! What percentage of his body weight has he lost ANY way?? Sounds to me like you are doing FINE. (and it is a GOOD thing you are doing this together!)

He's lost 1/2 of what he wanted to lose. His goal was to lose 45 pounds.

WOW!! When I was married to DH #2, we went to Diet Workshop. We went to the weigh in on the THIRD week............. and he lost ELEVEN POUNDS!! He lost 90 lbs total in the time it took me to lose 45.......eating the same things. It was shocking. All the women at that meeting wanted to KILL him.. that third week (including the "leader") My present DH could benefit from losing a significant amount of weight.... it is a challenge for me to lose with his................... disinterest in WL?? LOL... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

He is really doing great, but so are you! The only reasons it is slower for you are because you are a woman and you have already lost so much with the band. It always is slower for us girls! I do write everything down on the dailyplate (that you recommended). I think it is the best of the tracking sites. It does help me to keep on track. I have a hard time limiting my carbs without writing it down. My only problem with that site is that some things don't list the amount of protein. I don't know why.... Just ignore him if he gets holier than thou! I think it comes with being a man.

I've always thought WW was the most 'manageable' diet and I seriously want to start it as a lifestyle. Sounds like you're both doing an awesome job. It's not suprising that you're losing slower since you've done so well and lost so much already but 9 pounds is great. You're now rocking W/W as well as your band!
