Searching for answers and still need prayers
I didn't have surgery today, but I was in and out of medical facilities. Thanks for all the great advice and suggestions, gang.
Want y'all to know that without getting a single call back from a GYN office that I go a CA-125 and a pelvic ultrasound. My gastro doc and my bariatric doc are just that -- good doctors and their staffs are bending over backwards to help me.
I'm trying to get current tumor markers and mass sizes together so I can make an attempt to leave the city/state. We have family or good friends in Houston, Atlanta and Maryland. Yes, I really do want to live and I plan to follow every piece of good advice I can find.
My gastro doc is also ordering tests to see the extent of my anemia and if it's affecting my B12 and folic acid levels.
After all the blood draws, fighting traffic and other tests, my pain levels are completely off the charts. Iron supplements are too much for my already painful stomach, so I went out and tried to eat a patty melt to get some beef (iron). Tomorrow, I might just try the iron tablets.
I am not going down without a fight.
More tomorrow!
Frances
I am thinking of you in your time of need . I am happy your doctors are trying everything they know and also happy you are prepared to leave the state to get the care you must have .... thats right Frances ...give this thing ever last ounce of strength you have A survivor!...! a fighter!! When you feel you have no more to give .. take a deep breath, rest a bit ,reach deep down inside... you will find that special hidden strength that is in there maybe there are some other ways to get your iron mybe in a shake or something sipped very slowly, or in veggies mashed with a tad of real butter anything to help keep it down and not burn your tummy... can you eat other forms of meat in small amounts? prepared any way you can keep them down maybe cooked extra well and then possible mashed well or even minced ! it does not take much maybe a sponful or two should be enough if eaten every day along with well cooked fresh (not canned) veggies like broccolli, zucchini ,yellow squash, tomatoes spinach ,sweet potatoes , kale, fresh greens green beans all these have lots of vitimans and minerals you need for strength and nourishment ..maybe even some iron I have to check on the iron content ..be right back !
Really happy to hear that you are getting good advice. I know you must feel like a pin cushion by now and that you want to get home. Rest and comfort yourself as much as you can. Think of you and your health for your family. I too would like to meet you and PhyllisC if you come to MD someday. Thinking positive thoughts Diane
