new experience after all this time!(long)
This is weird. I thought that at 21 months out I had experienced everything the band could offer me. But no!!
I have generally managed my hunger well. If I got hungry, I ate a band suitable amount and then (unless a fill was due) I was absolutely fine. So I tended to eat small and often; very small breakfast, two main meals but at least 2 between-meal snacks. Worked for me. But I did get that hunger, however easy it was to deal with.
Now, as I have posted before, I am tighter than I have ever been. It took me a week or so to get to terms with this but I now can make sense of many of the comments people used to post about 2 mouthfuls and being full!
But the key difference is - I keep forgetting to eat!! In UK terms it is nearly lunchtime and I have just realised that I haven't eaten today at all and I only thought of it now because I saw the clock - not because I felt hungry! I'm not sure I can bother eating! I probably will for health reasons!
I managed well with my band before but I have definitely realised that I could have made life a bit easier earlier!!

Questions: Why after the 2 years plus are you tighter?? Is this a natural occurrence or did you get a recent fill? Are you saying that you don't feel hungry because of fills?? Do you think that most long time bandster start to feel like not eating?? I ask because I don't feel that way now and I have 9 1/2 cc's in the 10 cc band. I feel that I have good restrictions but I still feel like eating and sometimes I have to reign myself in on the food. Just curious. Diane

A - although I did not expect to need any more fills once I got to goal, I did start to feel hungry again between meals - more so than was easy to handle. I think that although my weight had remained constant I had definitely changed shape so it is possible that I had without realising it lost more fat from round the stomach hence the very slightly looser band. So, yes I had a fill (just 0.1cc, I am now at 3.1 in a 4cc band)

A - I honestly don't know! I think it is quite possible that people's descriptions of good restriction may vary. For me up till now, I could never easily go between two meal times without a snack. if I did it was pure will power. Many others say that they simply do not get the urge to eat between meals. So it may just be that my band is at a level of tightness that many people experience when they say they are restricted - just not what I meant by it!
So not terribly helpful, I'm afraid.

I think I know what you are saying! I have around 2.5 cc's in my 4cc band and it was really only after the last one that I started to think that perhaps I have just not had adequate "restriction".....
On the other hand, I think I will wait 'til after my ALASKA cruise in mid-may to get another fill. Maybe then I will have TRUE restriction.,.. HA.
Kate, I understand everything you said! I don't eat, because, I'm hungry, I eat at the same times, everyday! It's like I'm programmed. My doctor, told me, I need to be consistent, so, I would get my calories, and nutrition in. That is what has worked for me! I could NEVER not eat, it would throw me ALL off! ha
