I've had the same problem. Prior to being banded I LOVED my veggies and fruits now, I just couldnt get them down, I would either gag at just the thought, or they would get stuck. I have also found that my taste have changed and it baffles me! Now I'm unfilled due to an upcoming surgery so I'm enjoying them again. When filled, I was able to eat salad, I found anything "crunchie" worked for me. FOr the other veggies, I liked roasted cauliflower and brussel sprouts I'd also sautee broccoli and or string beans in a little olive oil and garlic. (my kids love it that way too) I've heard the steam bags are good. Good luck to you....keep on trying new things you never know when you will be able to tolerate something you once couldnt.

Karen, I think all of our tastes changed, when we were banded! I eat a LOT of veggies, and fruit! You know, I eat a lot of blueberies! ha Nancy gave you a great list! She also, a long time ago, introduced me to something called Juice Plus! You take easy capsules, each day, and get the equivilant of what you should have each day! They are a little pricey, but my doctor, said they are great! They give you enough for 3 months. I used them for quite a while, though. JuicePlus.com. Hope you find a solution, hon!

Hon, no worries! You know, there is that cookbook by Jerry Seinfeld's wife on how to put veggies into food. If I were you, I would make sure your veggies are very very well cooked. Maybe a stir-fry with lots of flavor (maybe peak your interest in veggies)? Broccoli, celery, asparagus, and other fibrous foods might be hard, so if you have stuck issues avoid those. Fruits... I am not a huge fan of fruit (never have been). If I make a shake, I will add bananas, frozen berries, or frozen mangos in them. I will do cottage cheese with canned pears or peaches. Good luck!!

Thanks so much for the tips everyone! I went to the grocery store yesterday on a mission to buy more veggies. I did! Trouble is that Walmart's veggies are horrible. If I want quality I have to drive out of my way and I don't have the time. So bought mostly frozen yesterday. I'm going to try to make them more interesting and I bet that will help greatly. Thanks again! Karen

I have a ton of issues with Fruit and I have never been a Veggie fan. I am going to read through to see what advice you get. Because I could use some....

Karen, Not only do I not much like veggies any more but I have a heck of a time getting them down, except . . . In mt Vegetable Beef Soup. They are all some nice and soft, and blend in with all the other flaovors, that they go right down. The recipe is on my website - http://www.shilohgraphics.com/ron Try it! You will love it! Ron

I adore all veggies but since being banded I simply don't eat enough. Because I go for protein first I often don't have enough room left. And if I go for a veggie meal (quite often) i still don't eat enough for health. I may get 5 portions a day but the portions are NOT the portion sizes the medics mean when they say we need 5 portions! So I go for fruit juices/smoothies/tomato puree in things. Try putting swede (do you call it that??? big purplish root veg, round - why do i think you may call it something like rutabego????) or carrot, or parsnip mashed in mashed potato. Kate
