Well, there bad news and good news....
The bad is the Bariatric program called me yesterday and my insurance refused the revision proposal, and seperately refused Bypass. I'm not fat enough....LOL, *sigh*
of course, anyone would do it if I was self pay... that's not happening.
The good... I got all my labs back from my visit with my PCP and I don't fully understand them, I was checking out online for levels. So I was talking to my friend/neighbor who is a nurse and told her what I wanted to do. She shook her head at me... she said, "don't do that to yourself"... (she is a post op nurse)(LOL, this is the one that took me on the 4 mile walk in 95 degrees last year)... I asked her to look at my lab work... she laughed... she said everything is perfect and no wonder why you can't get it, there's nothing wrong with you... I could have hugged her because she said I wasn't even big enough.... I have a "great liver" by the way...
So, no surgery at least for now, I am being given yet another chance to take charge and get my big behind to the gym. YAY me Thanks to all for riding my ups and downs with me. I just have to MOOOOve for now

Thanks Sharon, I hope I don't have any real problems anytime soon. I guess obesity still isn't a disease in and of itself...??? wacky
HI Deb. Maybe that's a sign? Things happen for a reason and maybe it's meant to be. Although I'm sure it's discouraging. The exercise is so hard for me this time of year. I feel like a slug and would like to go outside for walk but it's too cold and my winter coat is too big so the air goes right up my back! Brrrr!!
I was curious...with the band gone, are you able to eat normally? Like normal bites, not having to chew well and do you have any intolerances? I was just curious because they say that the stomach "usually" goes back to normal. The word usually makes me wonder.
I wish you luck...you'll do it!

Well, my stomach didn't go back to normal right away, I actually didn't have an "appetite" for 6 weeks out and I was thinking...*whew*, but yes, absolutely normal, no intolerances, and I don't have to think about chewing to mush, I actually get mad at myself sometimes because I barely chew at all!!
I have used the weather as an excuse, and I have a local gym I can join and go to in the evening. I've had my pity pot kicked out from under me and it's all good.
Is there a way to fight the insurance company? (You know I am a law student now..so never say die...lol)
I am very glad to hear that you are so healthy! You need to be healthy to keep up with daycare and your active family.
I havent exercised in a 3 weeks, since school started....I am feeling the effects of that..and the weather hasnt cooperated....but I guess its time for me to moooove too. Have you ever done WW? Nancy is doing well on that and so is her unbanded husband.

I could fight it, but if I am blessed with good health, my BP is 128/80, my sugar was 80 after having coffee with reg coffeemate... the only thing was I am a little low in calcium, so I have to take a supplement. Does it make sense to take what I have and alter it so I am sick to be thin. When I started out, I was doing it to be healthy, now I guess I'd be doing it for vain reasons. My neighbor couldn't believe I was considering it... she is someone that has to work out to keep her weight down, and she hates it, but does it for her health. So, I guess I'm as healthy as a horse... and the size of one... I have to love myself where I'm at, and work on it from there.

Well I think you are sensational, and like I just said to Nancy, if you had it taken away from you, you would really love where you are at now.
Deb - I guess that's good news.. Was this the baratric program with your original surgeon? Basically there is no magic bullet. We need to do all the hard work of losing the weight.
I got similar news yesterday. I went to see a GI doctor who said "no you dont have Reflux, the problem is with the band. Remove the band and you wont have all these problems with your esophagus." So aggravating..
