Amazing Restaurant Calorie Counts
I went on the daily plate and looked up what I used to eat at Red Lobster before I was banded. Boy was I ever in for a shock. I used to eat the Coconut Shrimp and a baked potato. Only 3 of those shrimp come in at 585 calories! Think of a whole plate of a dozen or more! That's not counting the rolls, salad etc. that I used to eat. Now I don't think I eat that many calories in a week. Thank God for my LapBand! Tomorrow I will make a much better choice for dinner...
It is amazing an scary.
One of hubby's favourite lunchtime spots is called "Nothing But Noodles." Their food is very tasty. So I decided to look up some of the dishes. OMG!
First every dish is considered 2 servings except the children's dishes. The kids' Mac & Cheese is 454 calories and 26 g of fat. The kids' portion of Buttery Noodles is 723 calories and 49 g of fat.
Needless to say we don't go there very often any more and when we do we each usually order a cup of soup or a salad and split one pasta entree. It's insane.
Unreal! A nutritionist, on one of our news shows, told us, how many calories, in a deep fried Friday fish fry, and I was shocked. For 3 pieces of fish, FF, coleslaw, and rye bread(Milw. tradition), it's like 2200-2500, calories! You can't believe how many ppl, go EVERY Friday, for fish fries, around here! ha We used to. Now, if I get fish fry, it's baked, and baked pot., and tossed salad, and take more than half home! Well, Marcia, I hope you enjoy your dinner, I'm sure they have something you'll enjoy, just as much as your coconut shrimp!~
