The longer I am Out~~
The less I wander over to the lapband forum... same old . same old There less and less to repond to .. there are only a handful who have real issues to attempt to help out . I think the longer the lapband is around more, of the problems are finally being addressed I sincerely hope more surgeons are now taking more time to really tell it like its is.. as they themsleves learn more with exeperience.,also confuring with each other . which is really key ... with the preop and post op diets, the hunger issues ,the fills and all the possible problems that can develop ..
I just clicked submit and everything vanished so if this appears twice, just ignore one!
I do so agree. I did not go on OH LB forum for many months and then i went on just to pass on my success as encouragement to newbies etc.. And I got drawn in to answering a few threads (lucky - because I picked up the message about this board).
But I just CANNOT handle the threads like this one which appeared yesterday (words may not be quite accurate but the numbers are!)....
"I am 4 weeks post-op and have only lost 23lbs and I am always hungry. What am I doing wrong? I feel a failure."
Did she do NO research? Did she not listen to the doc/nut/psych? DId she not read anything? Ask any questions?
So what with the ill-informed and the drama queens who bury the many good, decent , sensible people on there, I'll stay over here, please! And post lots so that it stays open!

I'm glad others lost patience like I did!! It's a fine line between wanting to help and support those in genuine need and wishing people would use some common sense!! It is sometimes clear from a post (I'm not trying to sound superior here, just factual) that the poster doesn't have the background or the ability to research or perhaps even understand and if someone like that needs help - fine! Good for them for asking! But other times - really!!!!

You know Sharon, I don't think it's going to be invaded because it's too boring for the Rant and Rave crowd....thank God!! For me, it's not about judging anybody, ever. It's about being supportive and going back to the old rules that I learned as a kid - if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing.

Sadly I believe that all WLS are just a commodity. I know that programs want positive statistics, however, they are pushing numbers for insurance acceptance also. Well, I retract, maybe not just a commodity, but it is an attactive one for hospitals.
The reason I posted this is because it shows we really do have a true need to have a forum where we can get together with views ,ideas recipes, support, laughter. triumph and even tears without having to wade thru all the newbie stuff like ...OMG, I just had a double banana split, do you think I stretched my pouch?... Well duh!!... I guess after a year or more those things start to bug most of us just a little and yes I too,am also running out of pateince I sincerely hope we can keep this Island up and running easy and relaxing most of the time even if some of us may post serious or sad issues every now and then as this is real life . and we will support each other during those times of stress ..
