Back from support group
Hey everyone,
I'm not sure if you know that I facilitate the band support group for my doctor. Well, tonight was our monthy meeting.
I am always jazzed by the meeting, but this month was even more so. A new patient came. She is just two weeks out from surgery. But she was talking about before the liquid diet - she couldn't drive any more. She was too large to be able to drive. Now, she can drive. Also, she can now walk to the bathroom without stopping to take a break.
Mind you, she is still well over 400 pounds (in my estimation). What a neat story to hear.
Just thought I would share.
It does make you feel good. She was talking about how small her life had become - sitting on the porch and watching people walk by and wishing she could walk - things like that.
She's only 38. She deserves to have a life.
My doctor has done banded some larger folks too. This is the first one I have had in support group though.
We'll get her through it.
