I am not allowed to visit my family anymore...
So, according to my niece, I am no longer allowed to visit my family in Michigan anymore. I live in Florida and go to Michigan twice a year to visit them.
She was taking her nap today (she will be 4 in March), and when she woke up, she walked downstairs calmly. She went up to her dad and said, "Daddy, Aly can't come to Michigan and visit us anymore". He asked "why not?". And her response was, "I just had a dream that Aly came to Michigan, she fell in a river, and died. She cannot visit us anymore ok?". My BIL couldn't stop laughing! What a smart little girl. Obviously she loves me and such, but instead of her freaking out or crying about that dream, she logically put the pieces together and figured, since I "died" in Michigan in her dream, me avoiding Michigan would prevent me from dying. What a smart cookie! My sister called me and was laughing. What a strange thing for her to dream! I haven't seen her in 2.5 weeks, but I guess I was on her mind today! Sucks that I died in her dream, but she figured out a way to save me!

How cute! And how perceptive. I imagine when you saw her last, she picked up on the fact that you are having some health issues. As a four year old, she doesn't know exactly how to process that so her mind came up with a way for her to deal with it. And smart little cookie that she is - she "saved" her Aly!

They did know that I was not feeling well. I told them they could sleep over after Christmas (before, too many family things). So, Christmas day, they packed all their things to sleep over... but sadly, I was hospitalized for 2 days. So they knew that and then when I got home, I was still sick, and they understood why I couldn't take them out or let them sleep over. So, yeah, she probably had that thought in her mind. It was so cute that she figured out how to "save" me! She was so serious too! She refuses to let me come to Michigan! Love those kiddos!
